Story of the film

The son of a jewelry company owner, Sunny Sanskari, is prepared to pop the question to his girlfriend, Ananya Bhatia, who is a student in Italy. He even dresses up as her favorite character, Baahubali, confident that she will say yes. But things don’t work out as expected, as Ananya declines him, claiming that their relationship was only a “situationship” and, to make matters worse, that she is already engaged to Vikram Singh, the guy her mother picked for her.

Heartbroken, Sunny begins researching Vikram’s life and learns that he is a billionaire who recently split from his childhood sweetheart, schoolteacher Tulsi Kumari. Tulsi’s middle-class background and divorced parents made her unpopular with Vikram’s mother and older brother, Param. Despite Tulsi’s intense love for Vikram, he abandoned her because of pressure from her family.

Sunny chooses to meet Tulsi after discovering this. He inspires her to battle for her love after witnessing her suffering. Tulsi reluctantly consents, and the two travel to Udaipur, where Vikram and Ananya’s wedding is taking place. To exact revenge on their former partners, Sunny and Tulsi pretend to be a couple at the wedding, causing bewilderment and jealousy, as well as reawakening suppressed feelings. While Vikram starts to realize how much Tulsi means to him, Ananya begins to feel bad about leaving Sunny. Tulsi is still made fun of by Vikram’s family, but Sunny stands by her, winning Tulsi’s admiration.

When Vikram has an allergic reaction during the commotion of the wedding, Tulsi shows that she still cares by rushing to his rescue. Ananya and her mother argue that evening about how Ananya was always expected to marry and not follow her own inclinations. After realizing he still has feelings for Tulsi, Vikram leaves his hotel room and meets Ananya, with whom he decides to call off the wedding. When Vikram tells his family, his older brother hits him, but he ignores it and flees. Sunny admits his affections for Tulsi after Ananya finds him and confesses.

When Sunny finds Tulsi, he witnesses Vikram proposing to her and Tulsi accepting the ring. This causes Sunny to lie to Tulsi about him and Ananya reconciling, which results in an embrace between Tulsi and Vikram. He encounters a sobbing Ananya, and the two pretend to be in love as they depart Udaipur. Sunny confronts Vikram’s mother and brother for mistreating Tulsi on a regular basis. On what was supposed to be the wedding day, Tulsi follows Sunny the following morning as he leaves with Ananya. The two embrace and decide to stay friends.

When Sunny visits Tulsi a month later, she is hugging Vikram, who is carrying a wedding card. Sunny spends his days moping, longing for Tulsi, and hanging out with his family at their jewelry store while he laments what may have been. When Ananya goes to a friend’s wedding, several of the employees comment that Vikram Singh and Tulsi had a mehendi ceremony yesterday at his farmhouse, which seems to corroborate that they are getting married today. She quickly informs Sunny, urging him to pursue his passion.

After Sunny rushes to the wedding location, Vikram catches him. The two argue, and Vikram eventually confronts Sunny for attempting to sabotage both of his marriages. Dimple (Prajakta Koli), Vikram’s bride, and his family discover them. Vikram tells Sunny that he fell in love with Dimple during the month Tulsi left him. According to Vikram, Tulsi rejected him after Sunny left during the proposal, claiming that she was in love with him and that he showed her that she needed someone who stood up for her all the time rather than someone who abandoned her because of his family. Tulsi was devastated to learn that Ananya and Sunny had reconciled, but the two decided to stay friends. After Vikram informed Tulsi that he was getting married to Dimple, Tulsi gave him a hug.

Encouraged by Dimple, Vikram, and Vikram’s family, Sunny visits Tulsi’s workplace, where they share a kiss. Comedy breaks out when the principal confronts them for kissing in front of the kids during a school activity. Sunny decides to go all out and carry Tulsi out of the field while kissing her cheek after she angrily whispers to him that she would actually lose her job.

Review

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari garnered mixed reviews from critics.

With an average rating of 5.3/10, 56% of the eight reviews on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes are favorable.

With a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5, Yatamanyu Narain of News18 commented, “The film leaves you with laughter in your chest, warmth in your heart, and the faint aftertaste of nostalgia.” Perhaps its greatest gift is the film’s frank embrace of love, heartbreak, and the chaos in between—it doesn’t hide its filminess.

Firstpost’s Ganesh Aaglave gave the movie a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5, writing that Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is an enjoyable film that is full of romance, humor, and heart.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI is a fun-filled entertainment targeted at young people and families, according to Bollywood Hungama, which gave the movie a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5.

At its core, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari delivers what it promises: a glittering, colorful rom-com full of humor, charm, and enjoyable performances, according to Dhaval Roy of The Times of India, who gave the movie a rating of three stars out of five.

India’s Tushar Joshi Shashank Khaitan’s USP has always been clever writing, lighthearted humor, and true-blue romance, according to Today, which gave the movie a rating of three stars out of five. He tries to experiment while going back to his comfort zone with “Sunny Sanskari…” Sometimes he soars, and other times he falters. As a result, the movie is charming, entertaining, and occasionally frustrating all at once.

Overall, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari suffers from a lack of clarity more than a lack of ambition, according to Rishabh Suri of Hindustan Times, who gave the movie a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5. It never fully commits to either of these tracks, despite wanting to be both a romance and a family drama at the same time. You don’t fall in love with SSKTK for a story about battling for love.

The movie’s title reveals its conclusion, according to Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV, who gave it a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5. Sunny and Tulsi’s journey into each other’s hearts and orbit culminates in a convoluted, confusing, and ultimately reassuring love tale that would have been much more entertaining and hilarious if it had lost some of its fat.

The Indian Express’s Shubhra Gupta gave the movie two stars out of five, writing that the writer is too preoccupied with crafting dialogue and scenarios that allude to popular movies to worry about evoking genuine emotion.
