
Indian actor Vijay Varma mostly performs in Hindi-language movies and television shows. He received his degree from the Indian Film and Television Institute before becoming well-known for the 2016 murder drama Pink. Supporting parts in Gully Boy (2019), Baaghi 3 (2020), and Middle Class Abbayi (2017) came next. He was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Gully Boy.
Since then, Varma has appeared in a number of streaming projects, such as IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack (2024), Mirzapur (2020–present), Darlings (2022), Dahaad (2023), Kaalkoot (2023), and Jaane Jaan (2023).
Early life and education:
Varma was born in Hyderabad, Telangana, on March 29, 1986, into a Marwari business family. He attended the FTII to study.
Varma began his acting career in his birthplace of Hyderabad as a theater performer. Before deciding to relocate to Pune for two years to attend FTII for a professional acting degree, he worked in a number of plays. He moved to Mumbai to pursue acting roles after completing his postgraduate studies. His debut acting role was in Shor, a short film directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK that won Best Short Film at the MIAAC festival in New York that year and received great reviews at festivals. He also appeared in the highly regarded film Pink.

While he has played the villain on screen several times, Varma is renowned for his critically praised parts and his adaptability. According to Karan Johar, Varma’s versatility can take him anywhere in the world.
According to Jitesh Pillai of Filmfare, he is a method actor who somehow blends in with commercial movies.He also praised his “humor that is self-deprecating.”Tatsam Mukherjee of Film Companion remarked, There’s something appealing about the way he brings out the dark, unpleasant hues of the roles he plays. Outlook India’s Prateek Sur commends the actor for his diversity and powerful performances. Varma’s love for his work and exceptional emotional expression make him one of the most successful actors in the movie business, Akshat Sundrani of India TV News said, complimenting his faultless performance. He is one of Bollywood’s most mysterious and talented performers, according to Bangalore Mirror. According to Film Companion, his performance in Gully Boy is among the 100 Greatest Performances of the Decade.
