Actor and producer Sanjay Surinder Kapoor was born in India on October 17, 1965. He is involved in online series, Indian television, and Hindi films. He belongs to the Surinder Kapoor clan. Sanjay Kapoor Entertainment Private Limited was started and is run by Sanjay Kapoor.

Early life and background:

Nirmal Kapoor and film producer Surinder Kapoor were the parents of Kapoor. Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Reena Marwah are his three elder siblings. His nephews and nieces include actors Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Mohit Marwah, and Harshvardhan Kapoor, as well as film producer Rhea Kapoor.

Film career and few successes (1995–present)

Alongside newcomer Tabu, Kapoor made his Hindi film debut in 1995 with the film Prem. Despite the fact that both debutants had respectable performances, the film’s lengthy production delay—which began in 1989—lasted for several years. It was a failure commercially when it was released. Raja (1995), in which Kapoor starred alongside Madhuri Dixit, was a box-office hit. He then starred as a lead actor in a number of films, including Sirf Tum (1999), Mohabbat (1997), and Auzaar (1997). He had little success as a lead actor, with the exception of the mediocrely popular Chhupa Rustam: A Musical Thriller (2001), since most of his films were box office failures. He made a villainous appearance in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe in 2002 as Esha Deol’s insane husband. Critics applauded his performance.

His debut movie, Tevar, which starred his nephew Arjun Kapoor and was released in 2015, marked his transition into production. He made his debut cameo appearance with his brother Anil in the 2017 film Mubarakan.

Early in 2018, Sanjay was chosen to play the lead alongside actress Manisha Koirala in the anthology movie Lust Stories. He starred as the on-screen father of his real-life niece Sonam Kapoor in the Zoya Factor and Kannada film Seetharama Kalyana that same year. He co-starred with Divya Dutta in the short film Sleeping Partner in 2020.

Television and web career (2003–present)

His television debut came in 2003 when he starred with Karisma Kapoor in the television series Karishma: The Miracles of Destiny. He was chosen to star alongside Smriti Kalra in Vikram Bhatt’s 2017 television series Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara. The plot of the show is a man’s attempt to make his marriage work with a lady who is significantly younger than him. As Chiraag Arora, he even got a part in ALTBalaji’s online series Soggy Hoga Tera Baap. In the television movie Fashion Street, he played Sanjay Thakur. He played Rajeev Gujral in the 2020 film The Gone Game.

In 2021, he made an appearance as DCP Arup Singh in The Last Hour. He co-starred with Madhuri Dixit in the Netflix web series The Fame Game in 2022 as Nikhil More.
