With an average rating of 3.9 out of 10, 8% of the 13 reviews on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes are favorable.
Overall, PARAM SUNDARI is a good Bollywood romantic comedy, according to Bollywood Hungama, which gave the movie a rating of 3.5 out of 5. Although the plot may follow a well-known formula, the presentation guarantees a lighthearted, breezy viewing experience that appeals to young people with its blend of drama, romance, music, and emotions. The movie has the potential for a successful theatrical run and is probably going to open fairly well at the box office.
In conclusion, Param Sundari is a comfort food movie, according to Yatamanyu Narain of News18, who gave the movie 3.5 stars out of 5. Idli-sambar, paneer butter masala—pick your metaphor. Yes, familiar, yet warm, perfumed, and incredibly fulfilling. It may not strive for gastronomic innovation, but it evokes the nostalgia of a once-loved but now-endangered genre and the simple sweetness of first love. It makes you smile and may even give you a fleeting belief in the wonders of soulmates—algorithm or not.
The Times’ Tanmayi Savadi Param Sundari is a visual and melodic delight, according to Now, which gave the movie three stars out of five. Already a chart-topper, Pardesiya sounds much better in theaters. The videography is excellent, and Kerala’s beauty is stunning. Param Sundari, at two hours and sixteen minutes, is a well-rounded movie. Without focusing too much on its legacy, Param Sundari is a good one-time movie if you enjoy romantic comedies.
The Times of India’s Dhaval Roy gave the movie a rating of three stars out of five, stating that Sachin-Jigar’s music—especially Pardesiya, Danger, and Sundari Ke Pyaar Mein—as well as the film’s lovely Keralan settings and sensitive moments are its strongest points. Some of the humor is lighthearted, but not all of the jokes are equally funny.
Although it is a must-see for all fans of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, Param Sundari is not offering anything novel in the romantic comedy genre, according to Radhika Sharma of NDTV, who gave the movie a rating of three stars out of five. This new movie isn’t as captivating, even though it never promised to be a Saiyaara—a romance movie in the same general genre, but not a drama.
India’s Vineeta Kumar Rom-coms are supposed to be guilty pleasures, the kind you slip back to when you need solace, according to Today, which gave the movie a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5. Unfortunately, “Param Sundari” is the kind that you forget about as soon as the lights come back on. What precisely is a love story selling if it can’t sell love?
Taher Ahmed of the Deccan Herald rated the movie two stars out of five, calling it “old wine in a new bottle filled with stereotypes,” adding that the performances were subpar and the movie lacked content. “Param Sundari was good only until the trailer, dull story, and Sidharth’s fake expressions will give you trouble,” Amar Ujala said in Hindi, giving the movie two out of five stars. He also noted that the film’s strength rests in its music.
Firstpost’s Lachmi Deb Roy gave the movie two stars out of five. He stated, “The film has its heart in the right place as it addresses multiple issues, especially how today’s generation decides everything based on AI and algorithms and doesn’t listen to either their heart or their head.” However, the film’s alleged artificial charm and simplicity do become blatantly tiresome by the end.
The Indian Express’s Shubra Gupta gave the movie a rating of 1.5 stars out of 5, stating that Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s picture struggles to find romance and comedy. She also noted that the writing was dull and full of bumper sticker slogans.
Cinema Express’s Kartik Bhardwaj gave the movie a 1.5 out of 5 rating, stating that Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy fails from the start, calling it an outdated and unoriginal concept and believing that Malhotra and Kapoor lacked chemistry.
Hindustan’s Rishabh Suri. Overall, if romantic comedies are supposed to make you fall in love, Param Sundari hardly manages a courteous handshake, according to the Times, which gave the movie a rating of 0.5 stars out of 5. Technology can occasionally help you locate your soul mate, but no algorithm can save a movie that fails to evoke strong emotions in you.
Outlook India’s Debanjan Dhar gave the movie a rating of 0.5 stars out of 5 and wrote, “Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor Are The Year’s Dullest Duo In Kerala-Tourism-Ad Disaster.” According to Dhar, the film uses the divide between north and south India for flat, ridiculous humor, and Siddharth and Janhvi have the most leaden chemistry.
The culture-clash romantic comedy, which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has no identity of its own, according to Rahul Desai of The Hollywood Reporter India. He labeled the love triangle witless and described it as a soulless and derivative romantic comedy.
