Sky Force movie is an upcoming Bollywood Hindi war film, director are Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani while producer are Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande under the banner of Maddock Films, and Jio Studios respectively.
The film’s leading stars cast are Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya (first film), Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. This film’s storyis based on India’s counterattack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, regarded as India’s first and deadliest airstrike.
Sky Force, which was officially introduced in October 2023, started film shooting in Mumbai in May 2023. The 100-day main shooting, which took place in portions of India and the UK, completed in late April 2024.
On January 24, 2025, Sky Force will be released during the 26th Republic Holiday.

Story
Inspired by actual events from one of the bloodiest airstrikes between India and Pakistan, Skyforce tells a compelling story. An epic homage to valor, selflessness, and unwavering courage—a hero lost, a comrade’s search for the truth.
Another calendar year, another Akshay Kumar nationalistic movie. The teaser for the eagerly anticipated film, which stars Akshay and Veer Pahariya in their first roles, was recently released by the film’s producers. During the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air conflict, India launched a retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase, which is the compelling subject of the film. Both Veer and Akshay play important parts in this high-stakes story as Air Force officers in Sky Force. Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar all play significant roles in the film.
The clip begins with an Indian Army base being attacked by the Pakistani army, killing multiple soldiers. Politicians maintain that India, a “peace-loving nation,” will not strike again, but Akshay Kumar’s IAF officer, KO Ahuja, persuades them otherwise. India launches its first attack on Pakistan at this point. Veer Pahariya plays Captain T. Vijaya in the trailer as well. He is a risk-taker who is reckless and frequently referred to by his peers as a “madman.”
It is later revealed that Captain Vijaya disappears during the first-ever air attack, which is carried out by Akshay Kumar’s character, who is pushing his soldiers to do so. Ahuja insists that the authorities locate the missing soldier despite the government’s hesitancy to do so. Sara Ali Khan portrays Vijaya’s wife, who confides in Ahuja in the hopes that he will bring her husband back. There are many strong patriotic moments in the film, most notably when Akshay Kumar’s character brashly tells Pakistani officials that their “baap” Hindustan is prepared to attack. In one poignant episode, Akshay makes a speech in which he compares Vijaya’s insanity to the height of patriotism.
Production
The movie started development in June 2022, and by March 2023, pre-production was complete. In honor of Gandhi Jayanti, the movie was formally announced on October 2, 2023. India’s counterattack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air conflict served as the inspiration for the movie.
Film Shooting
On May 31, 2023, the main shooting got underway in Mumbai. In August 2023, the shooting was relocated to Lucknow. Officially, the film shooting was completed on April 26, 2024.
Over a 100-day span, including 60 days for Akshay Kumar, the movie was filmed in places like Mumbai, Lucknow, Sitapur, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pathankot, and the United Kingdom. In Mussoorie, a unique song featuring Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar was filmed. The last day of shooting was December 17, 2024.
Release
Sky Force will be released in theaters on January 24, 2025, after originally being scheduled for October 2, 2024.
Last year’s Fighter, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, was the last significant film on the Indian Air Force. It did poorly at the box office despite the star power. It’s unclear if Sky Force will be able to take off at the box office.
