Story of the film
The strained premise and forced humor of “Luv Ki Arrange Marriage” prevent it from becoming the endearing romantic comedy it could have been. Annu Kapoor and Supriya Pathak give good performances, but the movie falls short of capturing the audience’s attention. Even while its performances and picturesque setting make it worth seeing, it is nonetheless a mediocre contribution to the rom-com genre.
At the start of the movie, Luv (Sunny Singh) and his father, Prem Kumar (Annu Kapoor), reside in the Casanova neighborhood. Luv, his brother Prem, his sister who resembles him (Annu Kapoor as a lady), and her husband, Mushtaq Khan, travel from Orchha to Bhopal to see a potential bride. They meet Ishika (Avneet Kaur) there; she is the daughter of Supriya (Supriya Pathak), a bidi-smoking garage owner.
An unpleasant and antagonistic first encounter results in a tumultuous departure. But after being forced to seek refuge at Supriya’s house due to city rioting, Luv and his family come across more oddball characters, such as an alcoholic grandpa (Sudhir Pandey) and a roving robber (Paritosh Tripathi). When Luv and Ishika eventually fall in love and learn that Prem and Supriya are getting married, mayhem follows!
The idea presented by writer-director Ishrat R. Khan first appears as it would make for a fun romantic comedy. Unfortunately, the plot strains so thin that it soon becomes intolerable. There are no chuckles since the one-liners and humor seem forced. Because of the confusing narrative, Sunny and Avneet’s relationship with Luv and Ishika is uninteresting.
Annu Kapoor, however, brings his trademark sense of comedy to the plot and does a fantastic job as the crafty father. The ridiculousness of his amorous pursuits with his son is emphasized by his portrayal.
Adding nuance and charm to her part, Supriya Pathak’s portrayal is lovely as always. Supriya’s role has some somewhat embarrassing moments, but Rajpal Yadav’s character, who is in love, adds more humor and perplexity.

Review
While the film does a good job of building up humor and romance, Simran Khan of Times Now awarded it three stars (out of five) and commented that, despite its imperfections, it presents a lighthearted view of love and delivers uplifting sequences and laughter.
Beyond the picturesque setting and good acting, the story lacks substance, making it a bland tale of love, destiny, and a twist of fate, Archika Khurana of The Times of India stated in her review, giving the movie two stars out of five.
Rediff.com user Deepa Gahlot gave the movie a one-star rating (out of five) and the following comment: If this had been a French farce, no one would have cared if the bride’s mother and groom’s father fell in love and wanted to get married, but here, some crude comedy is generated with a dash of melodrama.
Despite its shortcomings, Pratidin Time claims that the movie makes a deep impression by showing that love has no bounds and can exist in unexpected places. It avoids explicit content, navigates with restraint and humility, and celebrates small-town charm and a dose of assertiveness while remaining within cultural bounds.
