Jersey Movie is a 2022 Bollywood Hindi-language sports drama film writer and directer is Gowtam Tinnanuri, his Hindi directorial debut and the remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same title.
The film leading stars Shahid Kapoor as a former cricketer who returns to the game for his son’s wish for a jersey, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor.
The film is produced by Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films.
The film was released on 22 April 2022 with positive reviews.

Premise:
- The Movie follows a thirty six years old cricketer who stopped his cricketing career ten years ago, now aiming to play for Indian team.
Production:
- After the original Telugu film there were speculations that Movie is going to remade into Hindi. In October 2019, the Movie was officially announced by Dil Raju, Allu Aravind and Aman Gill with original director Gowtham Tinnanuri attached to direct and Shahid Kapoor who just released his another Telugu remake Kabir Singh to star as lead character.
- There were reports suggesting that Shraddha Kapoor has been cast as lead actress. In August 2019, debutante Rashmika Mandanna was signed as lead actress. However in mid November 2019, Mandanna left the Movie and got replace to Mrunal Thakur.Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj Kapoor was finalized to play his mentor in December.
- Shahid Kapoor began preparing for his role as a cricketer on 2 November 2019. Rashmika Mandanna was signed for the lead heroine role to make her Movie debut; she later left the Movie and was replaced by Thakur. Filming for Jersey commenced in Chandigarh on 14 December 2019, and the Movie is to be theatrically released in India on 28 August 2020.
