Story:
Tara Singh returns to Pakistan in 1971, against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971., on a personal mission to save his son Charanjeet “Jeete” Singh, who is being held captive and tortured by Pakistani soldiers led by Major General Hamid Iqbal.

Zee Studio, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma officially announced Gadar 2: The Katha Continues on 15 October 2021 on Dusshera Holidays on their respective social media accounts, showing the release date of 2022 with a motion poster.
Casting
Sunny Deol was selected for the role of Tara Singh.
Initially, Nimrat Khaira was selected for the role of Tara Singh’s wife Sakeena in September 2021, However, She rejected the offer of Sakeena’s role after a few days for the support of the 2020–2021 Indian farmer’s protest.
She stated that Zee Studio and producers are on the opposite side of the 2020–2021 Indian farmers’ protest. So she will not work in any Bollywood film, After that Simi Chahal was also selected for the role of Sakeena. She also rejects the role mainly due to the protests. Finally, the role of Sakeena goes to Ameesha Patel, who had already worked in the first part of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is planned to be theatrically released in India on 11 August 2023 with Indian Independence Day Holidays.
The Gadar 2 Teaser was also released on youtube on 12th June 2023, also celebrating the 22nd Anniversary Of the Gadar movie.

Gadar 2 movies have mixed reviews from critics, However, public reviews are mostly positive.
Taran Adarsh on his Twitter account gave 1 and a Half stars from 5 stars and stated that unbearable.

Gadar 2 have high advance booking and most trade analyst predict that it opened with 35 to 40 cr INR, First day Friday collected 40.10 cr rs, while second day collected 43 cr INR, Total collected 83 cr INR in first two days, highest opening collected film of Sunny Deol.
Gadar 2 is popular in masses and easily cross 200 cr in First week or within 10 days as per most of trade expert.
