Production
There were rumors that Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani might collaborate in late 2020. Scripting was finished in August 2021. On April 19, 2022, the corporation confirmed the project in a lighthearted announcement video for the general audience. The movie reportedly cost 100 crores to produce.
Casting
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra was responsible. The choice for the female lead opposite Khan was made and is Taapsee Pannu. Later, Satish Shah, Dia Mirza, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal joined the cast.
Dunki Movie Shooting
While the main shooting began in September 2021, Khan started shooting in Mumbai in April 2022 for his scene. In July 2022, the team traveled abroad to Budapest and London, and it was completed in August.
Khan filmed a lengthy bike scenario in Mumbai in October involving 500 people. The following 12-day period was set for Saudi Arabia in November. Khan made a thank-you video and shared it online.
