Story of the film
Prabin (Suresh Oberoi) and Shanta (Rakhi) are coupled. The younger brother of Prabin is Nabin (Mithun Chakraborty). The police searched the home on the wedding day but were unable to find Nabin. Nabin’s crime isn’t explained in detail. When Shanta and Nabin get on the bus, the cops open fire, but Nabin manages to flee once more. Meanwhile, Prabin prevails in the dispute over their old ancestral home. Nabin meets Suraj, a family friend played by Vijay Arora, and learns that Shanta has given birth to a boy.
Nabin is to blame for Prabin’s murder, which was committed by a family member. Nabin later disproves his guilt in front of everyone, nevertheless. Dejected Shanta was forced to leave the city shortly after with her kids and father-in-law. They strained to make ends meet. In the interim, Nabin is apprehended by the authorities for the murder of Prabin and given the death penalty. Shanta’s childhood buddy Suraj suggests that she sell her homemade pickles to generate money. Shanta launches the pickle factory on his suggestion.
Her father-in-law now also dies. Her daughter and son both get married. Suraj also passes away. Now Shanta writes a will and departs from her house. Everyone looks for her but is unsuccessful in finding her. Raju, Shanta’s grandson, locates her in the train station. Everyone recognises their errors and expresses regret to Shanta. When Shanta finally passes away and Shobha has a daughter, everyone assumes that Shanta has reincarnated as Shobha’s granddaughter.
