Salaar Movie is a 2023 upcoming Bollywood Telugu-language action thriller film. The film writer cum director are Prashanth Neel, and the producer is Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films.
The Films Leading Star Cast is Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu.
The film was officially announced in December 2020 with the film shooting starting in January 2021 near Godavarikhani, Telangana. The music composer is Ravi Basrur while the cinematographer is Bhuvan Gowda.
Salaar Movie was initially planned for a theatrical release on 14 April 2022 but was delayed due to production delays after the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is planned to be theatrically released on 28 September 2023.

Production
Pre-production:
The film is officially announced on 2 December 2020. It is a High action thriller film, the first time working together with director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas, and the first Telugu film of Neel.
Prabhas stated about his role that “my character is highly violent, so this is something I haven’t really done before.” A few reports reported that the film is the remake of Neel’s first film Ugramm, although, Neel stated that Salaar is not a remake but an original story written for Prabhas.
The film music composer is Ravi Basrur while Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer.
Casting of Salaar Movie
Shruti Haasan was cast as a leading Actress in January 2021. Kannada actor Madhu Guruswamy is set to play an important role. In March, actress Easwari Rao was cast to play Salaar’s mother while Jagapathi Babu also cast, whose character shown as Rajamanaar.
Prithviraj Sukumaran also plays an important role in the film. In March 2022, Prabhas stated that Prithviraj is part of Salaar during a promotion of his Radhe Shyam movie. Sriya Reddy also plays a key role.
Film shooting:
The film’s shooting started on 29 January 2021 in the coal mines near the city of Godavarikhani, Telangana. The first schedule of shooting was completed by February 2021. The second schedule of the film started in August 2021 in Hyderabad.
Nearly 3rd part of the shoot was completed by March 2022. Film shooting was stopped due to the release of Prabhas Radhe Shyam film (2022) and Neel’s K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) and was planned to be started again in May.
However, Prabhas take a break from shooting for knee surgery in March during his vacation in Spain, which halted the shoot. In June 2022, a new shooting schedule started at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City with Prabhas and Shruti Haasan joining the sets. The film team also shot a 20-minute-long action sequence in the sea, expend about 10 crore INR on the scene.
Salaar film reportedly uses Dark Centric Theme (DCT) technology to shoot the film, making it the first Indian film to do so that’s why the film’s lighting pattern and color palette would be darker in theme.
