The film stars Vidyut Jammwal, Shruti Haasan, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma, Kenny Basumatary in the lead roles.The film is producer are Tigmanshu Dhulia Films and Azure Entertainment and is a remake of the French film A Gang Story (2011).The film is about the rise and fall of four friends’ rustling operations across the Nepal-India border. Yaara Film Story:

Story of ‘Chaukdi Gang’ and the two men who helped build this gang played by Vidyut Jammwal and Amit Sadh. This gang of four which includes Vijay Varma, is nabbed by the police and serve their time in jail. However, both men who once ruled the drug smuggling, gun-running and looting struggle in their own different ways to escape their past and start a new life after being released.

Yaara is scheduled to premiere through ZEE5 on 30 July 2020. Initially intended for theatrical release, this was dropped in favour of a digital release due to the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in theatres being closed.

Yaara Movie Review :

Tigmanshu Dhulia directorial Yaara is finally streaming on ZEE5. The film, starring Vidyut Jammwal, Amit Sadh, Vijay Verma, Kenny D Basumatary and Shruti Haasan, revolves around the friendship of four criminals – Phagun, Mitwa, Rizwan and Bahadur – who are part of the Chaukdi Gang, and traces their rise and fall. A remake of 2011 French movie Gang Story, Yaara is set in two periods – 1970s and the present day. As a result, we see its lead actors sporting older looks too.

In what we saw in Yaara’s trailer and other promotional material, the plot follows the crimes committed by four friends (Vidyut, Amit, Vijay and Kenny) and their coming-of-age. But things going awry resulting in Phagun and Mitwa parting ways, only to meet again after 20 years when Mitwa gets arrested. Phagun, despite the fallout, tries to help his former friend for old times sake.
