Hulchul is a 2004 Indian Bollywood romantic comedy-drama film directer by Priyadarshan. The story is adapted from the Malayalam film Godfather and storyline is based on “Romeo and Juliet”.

Story Of The Film :
Angar Chand lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small town in India along with his wife, Parvati, and four sons, Balram, Kishan, Shakti and Jai. Since Balram is of marriageable age, he arranges his marriage with the daughter of Laxmi Devi, who decides to oppose this marriage. During the wedding ceremony, Laxmi Devi and her sons, Surajbhan, and Pratap forcibly remove their sister and accidentally kill Parvati. They subsequently get their sister married to Kashinath. An enraged Angar hacks Laxmi’s husband to death, is arrested and sentenced to 14 years in prison. When he returns he makes it clear that women will not be permitted in his house and forbids his sons to ever marry. Then Jai, who is studying in Lala Lajpatrai Law College meets with Anjali, Laxmi’s grand-daughter, who openly admits that she is attracted to him. Jai, at first rejects her, then decides to teach and her family a lesson. Both feign their love for each other, but subsequently admit the truth, and even Anjali admits that…

According to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with around 10,00,000 units sold, this film’s soundtrack album was the year’s fourteenth highest-selling.The song “Rafta Rafta” is a Hindi remake of the song “Aasai Aasai” with a slight change in tune from the 2003 Tamil film Dhool, another film where the music was composed by Vidyasagar.

Then you would love this movie. Arshad Warshi is so funny, the highlight of the movie.
The movie starts off okay, its setting the plot. Here’s whats happening, actually the whole plot is very superfluous. But then you would never really care. Wait for Arshad to kick in. The movie sort of slacks off a bit in the end.
Acting is good except ‘Julie’ aunt does not impress. And a series of songs that will bore you. Bad songs and not needed. I wouldn’t care about it.
Its just a laugh your socks off movie. The dialogs are snappy and very hilarious. You will come out with a good deal of laughs.
Critics Rating by Paturi Rajasekhar, from Times Of India give 3 star out of 5 Star.
