Tere Naam Movie is an 2003 Bollywood romantic drama film directer Satish Kaushik. Writter by Bala and Jainendra Jain, the film stars Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla in her Hindi film debut.The film is a remake of Bala’s own Tamil film Sethu 1999.The film was based on a real life incident of a friend of Bala’s, who had fallen in love, lost his mind and ended up at a mental asylum.

Tere Naam was released on 15 August 2003. Khan was praised for his portrayal of Radhe Mohan and the role is widely considered to be his best performance till date. Tere Naam was nominated for a total of 24 Awards, winning 7 of them, including 8 Filmfare Award nominations. In 2011 Kaushik announced a sequel to Tere Naam, thus he is currently working on the script.

Story Of The Film :

A woman comes from a Hindu high caste family. Her name is Nirjala. Her family want her to get married to a Hindu upper caste man. She agrees to do so. But before the wedding, she meets with a poor Indian. This man belongs to a very low caste. This man also has a very hot temper and gets into fights all the time. But both fall in love with each other. Nirjala’s family refuse to permit her to get married to him. They force her to get married to the man of their choice. In the meantime, Radhe gets into fight, and someone hits him very hard on his head. Radhe loses his senses and falls down. When he wakes him, he finds himself a mental patient. The hospital finds him very violent and they chain. He is unable to remember his past. Then Nirjala re-enters his life. Will this cure Radhe or make him even worse?

Amisha Patel was originally considered to play the role of Nirjara, but scheduling conflicts prevented her from accepting.The role was offered to Bhumika Chawla, who made her Bollywood debut in the film.

Tere Naam Movie Review :

This film review are Mostly Positive from Critics, IMDB Public Reviewing site give 7.1 Star Out Of 10 Star with Reviewers are 16006.

This film tells one of the best love stories of the decade, and it is great just because of the story. I’ll start off with the performances.

Salman Khan is awesome; his role in this movie is perfect for him. He, as others have said, proves his acting ability to any doubters. He actually proved it in his debut role in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) for which he won filmfare best male debut and was nominated at the same time for filmfare best actor. The film introduces Bhoomika Chawla who gives a solid performance in this movie – so solid that one would be surprised that she didn’t achieve more after this film. Actors in supporting roles also did a great job in making this a great film.

Critics Rating by Taran Adarsh, from Bollywood Hungama give 3 star out of 5 Star.
