EXTENSOR CARPI ULNARIS MUSCLE :
In human anatomy, the extensor carpi ulnaris is a skeletal muscle located on the ulnar side of the forearm. Muscle action is to extend and Ulnar Deviation at the wrist from anatomical position.
Extensor carpi ulnaris is on the posterior side of the forearm.
ORIGIN : Lateral epicondyle of humerus and posterior border of ulna
INSERTION : 5th metacarpal
NERVE SUPPLY : Deep branch of radial nerve
ACTION / EXERCISE : Extension and Ulnar Deviation of the wrist.
CLINICAL IMPORTANCE :
A common injury to the extensor carpi ulnaris is the golfer elbow. this injury require repetitive arm , elbow,
and wrist , espesically they are tightly grasp the object.
some symptom include pain when they shaking hand and when gripping/ quizzing the object.
the pain is worsen when person move wrist with force.
