Production :
On 13 November 2013 it was reported that Mannara Chopra would make her debut in the Bollywood with Karanvir Sharma with this film. She is cousin of Famous Actress Priyanka Chopra.
On 23 October 2014 reports suggested that film’s director Vivek Agnihotri had walked out of the project, due to creative differences. Vivek stated that the film he was brought in to direct is not the finished product. Apparently the producer inserted erotic scenes behind his back, leading the director to walk away from the film.
However Vivek Agnihotri confirmed the reports as being true, producer of the film Anubhav Sinha denied the fall-out stating that “Vivek Agnihotri is very much a part of the film”. On 27 October 2014 it was reported that Barbie Handa rechristened herself as Mannara Chopra for the film.

This film reviews are mostly negative from critics, Madhureeta Mukherjee from Times of India critics gave only 1.5 star from 5 star while Bollywood Hungama gave only 2 star out of 5 star and stated that “ZID is a very average thriller which has no stellar performances or a meaningful storyline.”
Filmibeat gave 1 star from 5 star while Koimoi also gave 1 star out of 5.
