Gracy Singh is an Indian Bollywood actress who primarily works in Hindi films. She is best known for her role in the film Lagaan and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.. Singh is also a trained Bharatnatyam and Odissi dancer.
Born in Delhi, India, Singh began her career touring with the dance group “The Planets”.Her first acting role was in the television soap, Amanat. She then went on to star opposite Aamir Khan in Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic sports-drama Lagaan, where she played a village belle. She was nominated in this role for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, and won the Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female.Post Lagaan, Singh appeared in a few successful films in Hindi and Telugu including Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Santosham. She has also starred in Punjabi films such as Lakh Pardesi Hoye and a Malayalam film Loudspeaker directed by Jayaraj.
In 2015, Singh returned to television, playing Goddess Santoshi in the series Santoshi Maa on &TV.Gracy Singh is a unique combination of star quality and a girl next door appeal. With amazing hits to her name, she has carved a name for herself in the field of acting and dance. She is known for her amazing roles in Lagaan, Munnabhai M.B.B.S, Armaan and Gangajaal. Gracy is equally committed to her spiritual quest.
As a member with the Brahma Kumaris, She is a much loved and respected by the BK family.Born and brought up in Delhi, in a traditional Sikh family; Gracy’s passion for acting and dance goes back to her school days. She started taking Bharat Natyam lessons during her vacations, while studying at Manav Sthali School. Finishing school in the mid-nineties, she joined a dance troupe called “Planets” and started performing on stage,simultaneously pursuing her graduation in Arts. Around this time, she also traveled to Bombay for a few modeling assignments, ad films and dance shows.
