Story of the film
The arrogant Thakur Hansraj murders his brother-in-law, obtains his sister Bharati’s signature on the property documents under false pretences, and seizes her belongings. Ganga, Bharati’s son, vows to get revenge for the wrongs done to his family and goes on to work as a truck driver.
One day, a girl named Jamuna escapes from a thugs by jumping inside his truck. A road barrier forces Ganga to halt the truck. Ganga ends up assuming he and Jamuna are a couple and seeking refuge at a neighbouring lodge as it begins to rain. Ganga fights with the goon the following day when he comes again to take Jamuna away by force. Ganga is imprisoned for two years after being caught for assaulting the Thakur’s son.
The Thakur sends his aides to assassinate him when he returns. Jamuna and her kid tumble into the river when a bomb occurs at the bridge. Ganga finds Jamuna but spares his child. After losing her memory due to the accident, Jamuna eventually makes it to the house of singer Shankar, who falls in love with her after recognising her from a qawwali performance she did. To care for his son, Ganga enlists the aid of Saraswati, a lady who eventually falls in love with him.
The rest of the film focusses on Ganga’s quest to get revenge on the Thakur uncle, as well as how she and Jamuna reconnect through the performances of Saraswati and Shankar.
