Fighter’s theatrical release date was initially set for September 30, 2022, however, it was postponed due to production issues caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. After several delays, it will finally have a theatrical release on January 25, 2024, which also happens to be Republic Day.

Actor Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone finally gift a brand new film to their fans with Siddharth Anand’s directorial named Fighter. The film is the first project being produced from director’s newly launched production company Marflix.
Announcing was make publically on Hrithik’s Social Media account on 47th Birthday and give his fans with a big birthday gift. After Bang Bang, and War movie, This is the Third Movie in which Director Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan worked together and all this 3 film was released on Gandhi Jayanti Holidays.
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly slowed down the pre-production. Film shooting in Mumbai, Assam, Hyderabad, Jammu & Kashmir, and other locations continued under various schedules until the main shooting eventually started in November 2022. For the movie, actual Indian Air Force cadets contributed their time.
Five songs make up the music album for the movie, which was written by Vishal-Shekhar with Satchith Paulose serving as the director of cinematography. DNEG is in charge of the VFX and CGI.
Fighter is expected to be an action thriller and is the First film from Anand’s banner Marflix.

Production
While filming the 2019 movie War, Siddharth Anand described the concept of creating a large-scale action thriller with fighter jets as the background. Hrithik Roshan appreciated the story’s core concept. Anand continued to work on the story during the COVID-19 lockdown in India and told Roshan about it; Roshan later gave his approval for the movie. It was announced in December 2020 that Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan would work together again in a movie following War (2019).
On Hrithik Roshan’s birthday, January 10, 2021, Fighter was formally revealed. The movie is the first airborne action movie produced in India. It is the opening chapter of the franchise. Under the auspices of Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, the movie is made by Siddharth Anand, Jyoti Deshpande, Ajit Andhare, Mamta Anand, Ramon Chibb, and Anku Pande. A 250 billion rs. budget has been set over to make the movie.
The movie’s director, Siddharth Anand, claimed, “We have reached a new level. The crowd has never witnessed anything like this in India. We’ve never tried anything like it before. A movie like this just cannot be made for the price we are charging. It isn’t possible. We are investigating some extremely unique stuff. I can’t discuss anything because I want everyone to see it when the teaser is released. It should simply blow their minds. The movie would showcase the most recent filmmaking and technology for a global audience.
Pre-Production
The story was written by former army officer and author Ramon Chibb with assistance from Siddharth Anand. Later, Hrithik Roshan served as the script’s supervisor as Anand and his writing team worked in the lockdown to construct the movie’s script. The movie contains “much heavier” action scenes than Pathaan (2023), according to Akshay Oberoi.
Additionally, Anand kept most of his standard crew members, including action director Sunil Rodrigues, editor Aarif Sheikh, stunt coordinator SeYeong Oh, and cinematographer Satchith Paulose. Raj Khatri created the movie’s posters.
Roshan began attending workshops in September 2022, continued his 12-week simulator training, and acquired the specifics of portraying a fighter jet pilot. Kris Gethin oversaw his training as he built up his core muscles and reduced weight. He spent time with the pilots and students at the Telangana air base and Air Force training academy in November to watch their behavior and gain an understanding of how they operate.
For the movie, actual Indian Air Force cadets contributed their time. The cadets arrived by plane from Dundigal Air Force Academy, which is close to Hyderabad, and the IAF’s main office in Delhi.
Casting
Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan were formally revealed as the leads in January 2021, making this their first collaboration.
Air Force officer Patty is portrayed by Hrithik Roshan. His character was described by Roshan as “young, spontaneous, and short-tempered”. In the movie, Padukone, who also portrays an air force officer, does a lot of action. For their parts, Padukone and Roshan both underwent martial arts training. In December 2021, Anil Kapoor joined the ensemble. By November 2022, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi had been hired. Talat Aziz joined the cast in March 2023 to play Patty’s father in the movie. Sanjeeda Shaikh’s position was acknowledged to be important in May.
Film Shooting
The first day film shooting in Assam was November 14, 2022. The Tezpur Air Force Station hosted this schedule, which included Roshan, Padukone, and Kapoor. On November 28, 2022, the team arrived back in Mumbai after completing their initial 10-day schedules in Assam.
On February 6, 2023, the squad relocated to Kashmir for the second schedule. This schedule also includes Akshay Oberoi. After filming at Pahalgam in Kashmir, where a song and a few action scenes choreographed by Sunil Rodrigues were shot, the team arrived back in Mumbai on February 12.
Roshan’s portrayal, an Air Force student undergoing training, was filmed on the third schedule at the Dundigal Air Force Academy in Hyderabad. Hyderabad completed the third schedule on March 6.
The fourth schedule of The Roshan began production in a Chembur bungalow on March 19 in Mumbai. Talat Aziz joined this program, and some emotional scenes were recorded. The month-long timetable was said to come to a conclusion on April 24. Through Instagram, Kapoor posted a behind-the-scenes video of his scheduled workout in -110 degrees Celsius. The crew also shot a 25-minute action-filled conclusion scene that reportedly took 120 hours (5 days) to film.
At the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai, production designer Rajat Poddarr and his crew constructed a sizable set that features the inside of an air force base, classrooms, and offices for the next schedule. The following schedule began on May 14 with the addition of Roshan, Padukone, Kapoor, and Grover. The crew spent three days in Chembur, a Mysore colony, filming Padukone and Kapoor’s combination sequences on May 19. The film’s emotional moments starring Roshan and Padukone began shooting at Chandivali on May 22. Only 20–30 extras were used in order to prevent online footage leaks. Midway in June, the Mumbai program was finished. The team will then travel to foreign places in July to film two songs. Roshan spent more than 12 days filming in a Sukhoi Su-30MKI.
Post-Production
After filming is over, post-production will start by early June 2023 and last for six months because the movie uses a lot of computer graphics and visual effects. The movie’s VFX were created by DNEG.
Music / Song
The composers of the music are Vishal and Shekhar. There are five tracks on the CD, one of which is sentimental. T-Series is the owner of the music rights.
Release
Fighter is planned for release on January 25, 2024, which also happens to be Republic Day.
The movie’s release date of September 30, 2022, had already been announced in January 2021. The 25 January 2024 release date was revealed in October 2022.
Sequel
The decision to turn it into a franchise was made by the writers of the script. According to a May 2023 article, when Anand concluded filming Tiger vs. Pathaan, work on the sequel, Fighter 2, would start.
