Story of the film

Flight attendants Geeta Sethi, Jasmine Kohli, and Divya Rana work for the near-bankrupt Mumbai-based Kohinoor Airlines. The employees are still holding out hope that things will improve, even though they have not received their wages in months. Former beauty queen Geeta was up in a privileged household until a fight forced her to work as a flight attendant to support herself. Her husband, Arun, hopes to open a restaurant and operates a faltering home-based food company. She must also provide for her troublemaking brother Punnu, who is jobless, and his wife Sapna. After her parents separated, Jasmine was raised by her maternal grandfather, Nanu, and has been working hard to make ends meet since she was in school. While attempting to launch her own cosmetics company, she exhibits a phony and ostentatious lifestyle on social media, believes in no relationships, and enjoys luxury items. Divya is a skilled pilot who struggles to pay back her school loan and was forced to work as a flight attendant since there were no opportunities. She maintains this a secret from her family.

Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya go on a covert mission to transfer gold out of India to the Middle Eastern nation of Al Burj when senior flight attendant Rajvanshi dies while on duty. The operation’s fulcrum is Manoj Mittal, Kohinoor Airlines’ HR Head. The three of them finally replace Rajvanshi in the gold smuggling scheme by passing off the bounty as chocolates at Jasmine’s request, and their financial circumstances improve: Together with Punnu and Sapna, Geeta finances Arun’s food company; Jasmine purchases Nanu’s gold ring back from the pawn store and treats herself; Divya settles her school loan; and Geeta ultimately assists her sister-in-law in leaving her brother and landing a job as a cook. The other staff members are still having difficulties. The three flight attendants conceal the gold stockpile, but the subsequent imprisonment makes them feel ashamed and causes them to reconsider their decision when someone alerts customs officers that they are smuggling it. Geeta and Divya console Jasmine as the friends get back together after Nanu dies. SI Mala, the furious customs official, says that her tip is correct because she got it from an air hostess in Kohinoor and finds it hard to accept that she was unable to retrieve any gold.

One day, when turbulence damages the fuselage and the gold pours out, the plane where the three had concealed the treasure is revealed. As the word spreads, Mittal and Vijay Walia, the chairman of Kohinoor Airlines, steal their gold and leave the nation. Divya, Jasmine, and Geeta initially blame their fellow flight attendant Komal for alerting the customs inspector, but following her emotional outburst, they conclude that neither Komal nor their other coworkers were at fault. Geetu finds out that Mala had mentioned that the information originated from an ex-air hostess, who was the only one aware of the gold smuggling, and that Mittal’s wife, Sudha, was also an air hostess. When they approach Sudha, she tells them that Mittal is cheating on her and that she tipped the customs to get Mittal arrested in retaliation. She goes on to say that Walia is the true kingpin, having taken the airline’s funds, turned them into gold, and hidden them in the Al Burj.

They obtain Mittal’s location in Al Burj from Sudha, follow him, and ultimately locate Walia in an upscale hotel where his daughter is getting married. With Sapna’s assistance, Geeta and Jasmine can obtain positions as housekeepers at the hotel and learn about the treasure. They devise a strategy after much effort (with Divya’s hacker brother Chintu’s assistance), and they learn that Walia and his family are transporting the gold to the Cayman Islands aboard a private plane. Divya becomes the pilot of the plane, while Geeta and Jasmine can get the position of air hostesses.

Review

Coworkers Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and Geeta Sethi (Tabu) greet Kohinoor airline passengers with a smile and then provide some hospitality. The undeniable drama queens have their problems and secrets to conceal. Nothing brings workers together more than their shared suffering, and the three air hostesses develop an improbable relationship as a result. The women are forced to look for drastic means of survival when they learn that their indebted airline is about to go bankrupt. Innovation and even criminal activity are born out of necessity.

The crew takes off without incident, bragging about a fantastic first half and a rough landing. Even when the ending becomes overly convenient, ditzy, or unrealistic, the fast-paced comedy thriller never fails to amuse. It works because the robbery portion is not sophisticated and does not attempt to be. The characters’ shameless, unrepentant approach to life without giving it any thought is what makes them funny. Though they have the same style and attitude as ramp models, their ideas are just as successful as Vasco Da Gama’s ki gun (of Andaz Apna Apna). As you give in to their world of ambition, waning vanity, and illusion, the sheer ignorance makes you giggle.

Despite its bubbly façade, Crew offers an intriguing perspective on the upper middle class and their connection with money, ethics, and a lifelong profession that enslaves them. They are caught in a crossfire between necessities, wants, and morality. “Bharte nahi bill adarshon se,” Geeta tells herself.

Speaking of women, the main cast members of Crew are in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, respectively, and this is the most entertaining casting for an all-female Indian heist movie in a long time. Beyond the natural age inclusion, the plot stays focused on the women, even when there are interesting males like Kapil Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh present. In addition, Kulbhushan Kharbanda makes a special cameo, and none of the male characters are unimportant, even if they only appear briefly on screen, unlike in most chick flicks.

While all three give it their best, Tabu and Kareena demonstrate how it is done with genuine movie star enthusiasm. When Diljit remarked, “Hogi Rihanna, hogi Beyonce, sadi ta ae he hai, Kareena,” he was correct. Bebo, a hustler who hides her loneliness, has depth and pizzazz. Tabu is fantastic, but she is torn between obligations and desires. With unique identities created for each, the two are captivating on screen. The two even make jokes about their ages, which we know they find funny. Although she has a lot of chemistry with Diljit and contributes to the bravado, Kriti feels more like a third wheel. It is the latter that leaves a pleasing impression. “Tumne mujhe instagram pe follow back kyu nahi kiya?” he asks Kriti. That is the funniest aspect of the film.
