Story of the film
A stunning woman is beaten by some criminals outside a nearby cemetery at the start of the story. Inspector Vijay of the police (Mithun) interrupts the criminals. The criminals treat Vijay like a nerd and attempt to intimidate him off the scene because he is not wearing his police gear. Mithun saves the girl by beating them up. The girl is new to the community and has no family. Coming along on the same page, Vijay and Renu start dating. They quickly make the decision to be married and have a family.
Vijay’s transfer to another place (Mangalpur) doesn’t take long. Mithun departs for his destination after promising his recently married wife a speedy reunion in Mangalpur. A few days later, Mangalpur sends Renu a telegram. She has been invited by Vijay to travel alone to Mangalpur. Renu makes the bold choice to travel to Mangalpur. When she first arrives, Mangalpur is a lonely town full of odd individuals. She makes the decision to continue her trek on foot, but she eventually finds herself in a vast wilderness where an odd tanga awaits her.
Renu, confused by the wilderness’s prevailing silence, chooses to board the tanga but is rendered defenseless when it leads her to a dark forest where she is killed. Vijay chooses to look into the situation after hearing about her visit and eventual passing. Vijay finds it odd that there is no blood on Renu’s body. Vijay starts searching for the hints after receiving approval from his bosses. In the end, his research reveals Thakur’s insane family, who, together with his siblings, maintain a detached life. Those who attempt to enter his Haveli covertly are said to vanish forever. The street dogs chase and bark at Thakur and his family whenever they are out on the streets.
This family, which also has a plan to take advantage of its victims for a shared but very evil purpose, is very different. They are vampires that feed on the blood of humans.

The relationship between director Sawan Kumar Tak and his wife, music composer Usha Khanna, deteriorated during the production of Bhayanak. Usha provided the music for Mithun’s Bhayanak. Since Mithun was acquainted with her brother Kuku Khanna, she felt a special affection for him. In the March 1982 issue of Stardust magazine, Sawan Kumar Tak attacked Mithun. He said that Mithun, Madhu Kapoor, and Usha Khanna were all in his bedroom when he unexpectedly returned home at five in the morning. Mithun explained to Sawaan that he was there because he needed to use the phone. Sawaan didn’t believe the tale.
Sawaan claimed that he had long played misgivings about Mithun and Usha Khanna. Mithun stopped visiting their home after being married to Usha Khanna. When he saw them in the bedroom, he finally came to believe the rumors he had always heard. He made the decision to divorce Usha at that point. According to Sawan, Mithun wasn’t his friend, hence he wasn’t using his residence for his adventures.
Movie Review
A group of characters are caught up in a web of mystery and terror as the movie centers on spooky events in a haunted home. Bhayank maintains viewers’ interest with its weird ambiance with a combination of dramatic acting, dark cinematography, and scary background music. For fans of old-school Bollywood horror, the movie is still a cult favorite even though some of the sequences seem cliched by today’s standards. Bhayank is worth seeing if you like slow-burning suspense with a touch of the past.
