Career Of Aneet Padda
Aneet’s Bollywood career began with a brief appearance in Salaam Venky, a drama about euthanasia in which Padda played the love interest of Vishal Jethwa. Shilpa Nair, writing for The Hindu, described her look as “noteworthy”.She played her first main part in Nitya Mehra’s Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don’t Cry, a coming-of-age drama about a group of friends attending a boarding school.
She portrayed Roohi, a member of the group having to deal with her parents’ difficult relationship. Padda penned, recorded, and sang the series’ original song, “Masoom”.Despite the series’ mixed response, critics praised the ensemble’s performances.
In 2025, she had her debut appearance alongside Dalai Mulchandani in Mehra’s chapter of the anthology series Yuva Sapno Ka Safar, which was digitally published on Waves. Padda then made her breakthrough with Mohit Suri’s love movie Saiyaara, in which she acted alongside newcomer Ahaan Panday. Padda played Vaani, an aspiring lyricist stricken with early-onset dementia who develops a bond with a young singer (Panday).
Despite his dislike for the film’s narrative, Rahul Desai of The Hollywood Reporter applauded Padda for providing a literary polish to a lady who could easily have been reduced to a coming-of-age device in someone else’s journey, as well as the chemistry between her and Panday. Saiyaara became the second-highest-grossing Indian film of the year, grossing approximately 5.7 billion (US$67 million). Padda will rejoin with Nitya Mehra for the courtroom drama Nyaya, which stars Fatima Sana Shaikh.
