Welcome is an Indian 2007 Bollywood comedy film writter and directer is Anees Bazmee, the film are stars Feroz Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal,and Mallika Sherawat, with Suniel Shetty making a guest appearance and Malaika Arora featuring in an item number. Narrated by Om Puri, Welcome marks Feroz Khan’s last film appearance,and is producer is Firoz Nadiadwala. The second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2007 after Om Shanti Om, it was the first installment of the Welcome franchise, and spawned a sequel named Welcome Back which released in 2015. The film was made on a reported budget of 40 crore and grossed over 122 crore at the worldwide box office; Box Office India declared it a Super Hit. It is loosely based on the 1999 comedy Mickey Blue Eyes.
Welcome released worldwide on 21 December 2007, to mixed critical reviews, and despite initial competition from Taare Zameen Par,was a strong financial success at the box office both in India and overseas. According to The Hindu, the film’s climax scene is a rip-off from the Charlie Chaplin film, The Gold Rush which had been earlier used in the 1990 Tamil film Michael Madana Kama Rajan.

Story of The Film :
After the passing away of his dark-skinned wife, from who they sired Uday, Dubai-based criminal don, Shankar Shetty re-married a fair-skinned woman, who gave birth to fair-skinned Sanjana. After the couple’s passing, Uday takes over in his dad’s footsteps, and takes it upon himself to try and get Sanjana married – in vain, as no one wants to be associated with a crime family. Then Uday’s associate, Sagar Pandey, aspiring live-action painter, who had loved Iravati, got beat-up by her brothers, and was re-named Majnu, assists in finding a young man, Rajiv, who lives with his maternal uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo and aunt, and through extortion compels Ghunghroo to accept this alliance. But Ghunghroo, at the very first opportunity, gets Rajiv to fall in love with another young woman in Sun City, South Africa. When the time comes to get Rajiv formally engaged to this woman, he finds out that Sanjana and she are the very same woman. With no escape from this predicament, the wedding is planned, invitations are sent out, and even Ranvir Dhanraj alias RDX, an Italian-based criminal don, also makes an appearance. On the day of the engagement, a woman claiming to be Rajiv’s child-hood betrothed shows up, makes a successful plea to Ranvir, and gets the engagement annulled. When Dr. Ghunghroo finds out that Rajiv and Sanjana have fallen in love with each other, he decides to accept Sanjana into the family on the condition that Uday gives up on crime. Rajiv and Sanjana attempt to get Uday to take up acting in a Bollywood movie – with considerable success – so much so that Uday has no time for crime. Things get complicated when Ranvir’s son, Lucky, gets wind of Rajiv’s scheme and arrives in India with one mission – get Uday back on track with crime – and if necessary do away with Rajiv – once and for all.

According to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with around 15,00,000 units sold, this film’s soundtrack album was the year’s fifth highest-selling.

This film review are Mostly Positive from Critics, IMDB Public Reviewing site give 6.9 Star Out Of 10 Star with Reviewers are 18229.
After more than a decade since its release, I am writing this review after seeing it for like the 3rd time. The movie has been the source of several memes in the last couple of years including the iconic “Alu lelo0O, kande lelo0O”, “mirakal, mirakal” among few others. There is hardly any 10 min stretch in the movie that won’t make you laugh or admire the creativity and sarcasm of the writer/director. The characters of Udai, Majnu and Ghungroo will always stay in our funny memories.
Akshay does a decent role, and Katrina, with her beauty, pulls off another one with the Khiladi. It is one perfect movie to watch with college friends, or family members. All the songs are still pleasant to hear, make your feet move, all while keeping the humor level decently high. If you haven’t watched it, you’re missing some original comedy.
