Story of the film

A doctor named Vidya cancels her planned marriage in 1997 in Rishikesh and deceives her parents into allowing her to wed her childhood sweetheart, Mehendi artisan Vicky. Vicky persuades Vidya to videotape their first night together when they are in Goa on their honeymoon. When they return, they put the video disc into their CD player and watch it until they nod off. Their home is broken into at night, and the majority of their valuables—including the family’s ancestral sword and CD player—are taken. Vicky tells Vidya a falsehood about the disk, claiming that he took it out before going to sleep.

When Inspector Laadle shows up to look into the matter, he falls in love with Vicky’s promiscuous but gamophobic sister, Chanda, right away. This leads to frequent confusion for the family’s gullible and resentful maid, who also goes by Chanda. Laadle concentrates on courting Chanda since he is awful at his work. Vicky, on the other hand, goes to a dubious illegal videotape vendor but is unable to locate the disc. When Vidya asks Vicky to play the recording again in an attempt to start a sexual encounter, he flees to avoid telling her the truth, which makes Vidya suspicious. When a friend informs Vicky that their ancestral sword was discovered in the possession of a Zimbabwean visitor the next day, she admits that she obtained it at a flea market. Chaabiwale Chacha is coerced by Vicky into disclosing Badshah’s whereabouts. In the meantime, a suspicious Vidya follows and believes Vicky is cheating on her after spotting him with the tourist.

Although the disk is subsequently found to have been taken out, Vicky discovers an unconscious Badshah in his hotel room with the CD player he took. When Laadle shows up there, Vicky uses the scaffolding to escape out the window. After being apprehended and imprisoned, he tells Vidya the truth about the CD, which makes her very angry. After Vicky escapes with Chaabiwale Chacha’s assistance, he returns home and tries to apologize to Vidya, but she sobs and tells him not to talk to her ever again. When a distraught Vicky tries to jump in front of a train to end his life, Vidya intervenes and they make amends, promising to work through the problem together. It is discovered that the disc was taken from Badshah’s hotel room by Bulbul Didi, a local godwoman, and her foolish goons, Sunil and Shetty. They extorted Vicky for two lakh rupees in return for the disk by calling his landline. Although Vicky’s sister and grandpa overhear the conversation and believe they are involved in the sex tape, Vidya receives the message. As Badshah hides in the morgue, Bulbul sends Sunil and Shetty to murder him in the hospital after learning that he is getting well.

While Chanda persuades Laadle to give her two lakhs, Vicky and Vidya break into her parents’ house to retrieve the money, but all they discover inside the safe is a stockpile of gutka. Although Laadle accepts, he promises to accompany her in catching the blackmailers. When Vicky and Vidya get home, they unintentionally tell their grandfather the truth. For the exchange, Bulbul, Sunil, and Shetty travel to a cemetery. Vicky, Vidya, Laadle, and Chanda also show up there, although neither group knows the other. Sunil makes a mistake and dumps the CD into the grave. Everyone is terrified and flees when Badshah bursts out of the coffin. While Laadle arrests Badshah, Bulbul, Sunil, and Shetty, Vicky and Vidya recover the DVD.

While Badshah tells Laadle that he obtained the film from a car he stole, Vicky and Vidya play the tape and are startled to discover it is different footage of them on their wedding night. Pardesi, the foolish brother-in-law of local leader Sajjan Kumar, is the owner of the vehicle. When caught, Pardesi discloses that Sajjan Kumar arranges charity-style community weddings, provides free overnight accommodation at his farmhouse, films the couples, and then sells the footage to a Sheikh from Dubai. Additionally, he discloses that no one has ever seen his face before, but he will be physically present at the next event. While Sajjan learns that his daughter Swati is one of the individuals who were married in the ceremony, Laadle stops the Sheikh’s automobile and replaces him. Despite Sajjan’s protests, the video is shown to everyone, and it is then revealed that Swati was complicit in the scheme. She then goes on to publicly expose Sajjan.

Vidya and Vicky continue to look for the Goa tape. It was finally discovered by Vicky’s younger brother beneath her bed, since it had escaped during the first break-in. The child tosses it away as Vidya runs to get it, and it ends up on a passing minitruck with an icon of the goddess Durga and religious music playing. A frightened Vicky and Vidya chase after it, suggesting a sequel.
