Story of the film
Inspector Verma’s only son, Anil, is abducted by criminal Lalchand as retaliation for Verma’s detention. Afterward, he tells Verma that he killed the youngster. Havaldar Bhagwan Singh, Verma’s faithful partner and friend, is killed by Lalchand while attempting to capture him. Ajay, the son of Bhagwan Singh, is thereafter raised as Verma’s and his wife Shanti’s child.
After several years, Verma becomes the Commissioner of Police and Ajay develops into a bold and honest police officer. Arresting Lalchand, who is now the underworld’s kingpin, is their primary objective. Ajay discovers during this procedure that Verma’s son is really still alive but has chosen to pursue a life of crime.
It is now Ajay’s responsibility to find the criminal lord Lalchand and bring Commissioner Verma and his long-lost son back together.

Interesting Facts About Vardi Movie
- The film was first titled “Shehzaade,” but Javed Akhtar and Rahul Rawail opted not to collaborate with the producers, hence the title was altered. At that point, Shabd Kumar joined the team and penned a brand-new script called “Vardi”.
- Sarfaraz, the son of Kader Khan, said that as a child, he was afraid of his father. I watched the movie Vardi, in which he portrayed both Balkishan and Lalchand. Lalchand was the name of his evil persona, and he was so terrifying that I avoided him even at home. I would assume that when Dad became upset, he would start acting like Lalchand!
- Madhuri Dixit felt ashamed of her performance in Vardi. She played a good cancer patient who loved Jackie but had to pass away at the end in the beginning. Thus, the scene of seduction was warranted. However, Madhuri thought the movie was excessively long and had far too many characters. Her character was therefore cut when it came time to edit the movie because it was the only one that wasn’t part of the plot.
