Tamasha movie is a 2015 Bollywood romantic drama film writer/directer is Imtiaz Ali and producer is Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
It starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Piyush Mishra , Javed Sheikh, Himanshu Sharma. The film Background score and music album composer is A. R. Rahman, while lyricist is Irshad Kamil. The film story revolving around Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir Kapoor) in three stages–as a 9-year-old child, a 19-year-old adolescent and a 30-year-old adult in a drama-based non-linear screenplay. The film was earlier named “Window Seat” when it was launched.
The film was released on 27 November 2015 to mixed to positive reviews from critics. However, they highly appreciates the performances of lead actors but criticised the complexity of the plot. The film collected 136 crore worldwide, Over the years, the film has built a strong cult following, with viewers appreciating its deep writing, sheer complexity and message.
The film gets nominations for direction, music and performances of the lead actors, mainly Ranbir Kapoor being nominated under the Filmfare Award for Best Actor category. Deepika Padukone won the Stardust Award for Best Actress and Irshad Kamil won the Filmfare Award for Best Lyrics for his lyrical work to the music album of the film.
