Story of Sikandar Movie
The people of Rajkot, Gujarat, call their king, Sanjay Rajkot, “Sikandar.” He is wed to a painter named Saisri, also known as Rani Saidha.
On a plane one day, Monica, a former porn star who is now married and has a son, runs into Arjun, Minister Rakesh Pradhan’s son. In return for sex, Arjun threatens to show her son her old recordings.
On the other hand, Sanjay, who is also traveling, steps in and fights with Arjun and his bouncers. In the end, he makes Arjun apologize to Monica. The following day, Minister Rakesh personally bribes Inspector Prakash to arrest Sanjay for assaulting his son. When Prakash gets to Sanjay’s Rajkot home, he discovers that he has left. Sanjay has already visited the police station, Saisri tells him. Sanjay is at the station when Prakash arrives, but he is accompanied by his higher officers, who tell Prakash to release him.
Sanjay seems to be aloof from Saisri all the time. She frequently observes him forgetting her birthday and their wedding anniversary. She tries to inform Sanjay of her pregnancy when she finds out one day. But concurrently, his query manager offers 40 kilograms of explosives that are allegedly going to be deployed at a location. Sanjay is compelled to hurry there in order to halt the assault. Unbeknownst to him, Saisri goes with him to the location, where she is seriously injured in a bombing. Before she can inform Sanjay of her pregnancy, she is taken to the hospital and dies from her wounds.
Sanjay goes to locate the recipients after finding out that her organs were utilized in surgery there. He soon learns that her heart was given to Nisha, her eyes to Vaidehi Ranga, and her lungs to Kamar, an orphan from Dharavi, Mumbai.
When Sanjay first meets Kamar, he finds out that he has lung disease as a result of the high levels of pollution in his neighborhood. Virat Bakshi, a businessman who purchased many acres of property to construct a mall, is the source of the pollution. However, he worsens living conditions by using his land as a landfill for trash in an effort to get the remaining people to leave. When Sanjay next encounters Vaidehi, he learns that she lives with her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and husband.
She owns a vadam store, but orders have stopped coming in. She thinks it’s because of her conservative father-in-law, who thinks women shouldn’t work. Nisha, who is in the hospital because her donated heart has begun to fail, is finally introduced to Sanjay. In an effort to save her life, Sanjay sets up a video chat with a doctor from Dubai to aid the local doctors in stabilizing her condition. He later finds out that Nisha had a heart issue from birth, which got worse when her ex-boyfriend Kapil cruelly told her he was getting married, causing her great mental pain.

Pre-Production
Almost ten years after their last collaboration, Kick (2014), Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala were said to be starting work on a new movie in February 2024. A.R. Murugadoss was then rumored to be directing the movie. It is the first movie that Khan and Murugadoss have worked on together. Murugadoss first offered Khan the lead part in Ghajini (2008). Khan was selected for Sikandar by both Murugadoss and Nadiadwala.
On Eid al-Fitr in April 2024, Khan announced the movie on his social media accounts, expressing his joy at working with Murugadoss and Nadiadwala. Shortly after, the movie was supposed to be shot in Portugal and other European nations during 2024–2025, but it was canceled because of Murugadoss’s commitment to Madharasi (2025). Although he finished large parts of Madharasi before moving on to Sikandar, Murugadoss eventually worked on both projects concurrently until June 2024. Sikandar is the most costly movie Nadiadwala has ever made and among the highest-budget Indian films ever made, with an estimated production budget of ₹200 crore.
Casting
Their first partnership was revealed in May 2024, when Rashmika Mandanna was revealed as the female lead opposite Khan. Sathyaraj and Prateik Babbar were cast shortly after. Kishore joined the cast a month after Anjini Dhawan, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi were chosen in September.
Film Shooting
On June 19, 2024, the main shooting was underway, with action scenes shot from the air in Mumbai. In July, Khan and Babbar recorded an action scene. Over the course of 40 days in August, further action scenes were filmed throughout Mumbai, including gunfights and hand-to-hand combat. According to reports, sets valued at ₹15 crore were made for these sequences in order to mimic Dharavi and Matunga. Khan suffered a rib injury while filming in September. When filming resumed later that month, Khan, Mandanna, and 200 backup dancers sang a song. However, because of Mumbai’s intense rains, shooting was once more put on hold.
After Khan received death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and a shooting was reported close to Khan’s residence, the shooting was further suspended for security reasons. The shooting process continued in November, with Falaknuma Palace serving as the filming location, following an increase in on-set security. According to reports, two songs with themes reminiscent of Qawwali and Holi were also filmed. Then, on lavish sets that recreated Borivali and the Mumbai Suburban, action scenes involving a train and 350 extras were shot. The last stages of filming for the movie started in January 2025 in Mumbai. Four action scenes were filmed there, allegedly involving trains, airplanes, and prison and hospital-like sets. On March 14, 2025, principal photography came to an end.
Music/Songs
Zee Music Company purchased the music rights to the movie. Pritam wrote the songs for the movie, and Santhosh Narayanan wrote the background music. On March 4, 2025, the first single, “Zohra Jabeen,” was made available. On March 11, 2025, the second single, “Bam Bam Bhole,” was made available. Released on 18th March, “Sikandar Naache” was the 3rd song.

Sikandar Reviews
Sikandar movie reviews are mostly mixed from critics and the audience.
Bollywood Hungama gave Sikandar 2.5 stars out of 5. Overall, Sikandar aims to convey a strong social message and presents Salman Khan in a part that is certain to appeal to his audience. However, a poor screenplay and inconsistent direction lessen the impact.
Indian Tushar Joshi Sikandar is tiring and a little out of date, according to today’s 2/5 star rating. However, it can be your choice this Eid if you want to see Bhaijaan do his thing and don’t have high expectations.
Overall, Sikandar is not the Eid Salman used to promise his horde of fans, according to Rishabh Suri of Hindustan Times, who gave it two out of five stars.
NDTV India’s Saibal Chattarjee awarded it a 2/5, writing that not much of what Sikandar puts together—the director is responsible for both the story and the screenplay—achieves any level of consistency. It relies on crazy, unimaginative, and credulous contrivances far too much.
Pinkvilla’s Gautam Batra scored Sikandar two out of five stars, stating that it falls short of its goals and scarcely passes as a mass-entertaining film. The picture has a fantastic tale, but it doesn’t make an impact because of its shallow plot, good soundtrack, and outstanding performers.
In “Sikandar,” director AR Murugadoss and actor Salman Khan flounder badly, failing to give us anything we haven’t seen before, according to Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express, who awarded it 1.5/5 ratings.
OTTPlay’s Shubham Kulkrani rated the film 0.5 out of 5 stars, saying that if you’re looking for such dedication, see the AR Murugadoss film, which has Salman Khan reading from a big board while squeezing his eyes. Moviegoers are entitled to better. The best is what fans deserve. Supporters ought to expect more if this is an Eid bonanza.
