Shootout at Lokhandwala movie is a 2007 Bollywood Historical-action crime film, directer is Apoorva Lakhia. It is based upon the 1991 Lokhandwala Complex shootout, a real-life gun battle between gangsters and Mumbai Police.

Film shooting done at the actual locations of Lokhandwala Complex in Mumbai where the actual incident had happened.Sanjay Dutt’s character was based on the real life Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Aftab Ahmed Khan Head of the ATS who was leading the gun battle with gangsters.
Sequel Shootout at Wadala second film is made after this first shootout film series.

Production :
Many film scenes shooting done on actual locations at the Lokhandwala Complex in Mumbai. There was a chase sequence with Sunil Shetty and Arbaaz Khan playing cops, and Ravi Gosain (Aslam Kesai) through Lokhandwala.
It would have been difficult to shoot this sequence with the public around. Hidden cameras were used at five places and the two actors ran 200 meters at the real location to can the scene.
The film created much controversy regarding the dramatized portrayal of the incident. Sikh groups complained about the wrongful portrayal of Sikhs as extremists. This led to Sikh groups wanting the film banned and “bitterly” opposing the film.

This film reviews are mostly positive from critics and also Box office successful film.
Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave 3.5 star from 5 star and appreciated the makers by stated that “The film is embellished with a great cast, but the ones who stand out with winning portrayals are, in this order: Sanjay Dutt [effective], Amrita Singh [exceptional], Suniel Shetty [competent], Tusshar [impactful] and Arbaaz Khan [good]. Amitabh Bachchan is not in his element, expect for the final sequence in the courtroom. Abhishek Bachchan is wasted. Although the makers have publicized his presence as a special appearance, it’s shocking to see Abhishek getting bumped off at the very start.Vivek Oberoi repeats his COMPANY act yet again.”
