Ragini MMS Movie is an 2011 Indian Bollywood found footage horror film directer is Pawan Kripalani and producer are Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. It was released on 13 May 2011 (Friday the 13th).

The film is inspired by the 2007 American supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity and is partly based on the real story of a girl from Delhi named Deepika. It is loosely based on Stephen King’s novel Gerald’s Game. The film’s collection were affected due to MTV Roadies 8 .

Story of The Film :

Ragini MMS is a sensuous paranormal film, shot as if in real time! The quintessential couple, Ragini and Uday, set out to have a dirty weekend at a friend’s farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai. The weekend getaway quickly changes gears as they find themselves in a house that has been rigged with cameras in Bigg Boss style. The cameras that were meant to capture love-making are witness to something that is beyond the realm of human understanding…something metaphysical…. Within the confines of this house, Ragini and Uday are now at the mercy of an unexplainable paranormal force. With sundown approaching, what will the new entrants of the house do? Positively, among the most keenly awaited films of the season, Ragini MMS, a hybrid of fact and fiction, is thrilling voyeurism from the producers of Love Sex Aur Dhokha. Production :

The film was originally titled Raginni MMS but a numerologist advised Ekta Kapoor to change it to Ragini MMS. The film took only 25 days to shoot. Total six cameras were used to shot the film including Canon 7D, Arri Alexa and a handicam. The size of the total footage shot was around 2.5 terabytes.

Release :

The film had a midnight première on 13 May 2011 in Pune. The film opened to a very good response in its first week grossing 77.5 million. It was steady during its second week and grossed 99.4 million at the end of its second week. The film recovered its cost within two days of release.

Ragini MMS Movie Songs / Music :

The music is composer is S. D. Burman, Shamir Tandon, Faizan Hussain, Agnel Roman, and Bappi Lahiri. The soundtrack for the film was released on 19 April 2011. It consists of only four songs, including the hit song “Raat Akeli Hai” from the 1967 film, Jewel Thief. Erik Satie’s Gymnopedie No. 1 is also heard in pieces in this film.

This film review are Mostly Positive from Critics, IMDB Public Reviewing site give 4.9 Star Out Of 10 Star with Reviewers are 2450.

After a long time, finally a Hindi horror movie that sends shock waves of fear while you watch it. Two stories combined into one. A nice simple setup. Another example how you can make a blockbuster out of 1 crore INR budget. Lead actors gave a terrific performance. Movie ends in time. No time wasted in explaining the birth/delivery of the demon :). People should learn from Ekta Kapoor’s creative skills while producing these kind of movies.

This film keeps everyone glued to their seats throughout the duration of this wonderful attempt to showcase Hindi horror. Do not waste anytime reading this review now. Just go watch it for yourself, and delight yourself. Value for money treatment. Good movie.
