Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai is a 2000 Indian Bollywood romantic film, writter and directer by Rakesh Roshan. It marks the debuts of his son Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel. The film featured Hrithik in a double role as characters Rohit and Raj. The story was inspired from the Kannada blockbuster Ratha Sapthami 1986 starring Shivarajkumar and Asharani.Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai was the most successful Bollywood film of 2000, becoming the second highest grosser of the year.It was added to the Limca Book of Records for the greatest number of awards won by a Bollywood film 102.Rakesh Roshan collected his first ever Filmfare Award, which he won as producer and as director. Following the release of the film, Hrithik became an overnight superstar.His successful debut was termed ‘Hrithik Mania’ by the media.He became the only actor to win the Filmfare Award for Best Debut with the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the same film. Production :

The film was launched in 1998 with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor as the lead actors. However, the latter walked out a few days after the launch, following a “misunderstanding” between the director Rakesh Roshan and Kareena’s mother Babita. Rakesh, who had known Ameesha Patel’s family for a long time, cast her in the role.

The ship scenes were filmed aboard the Star Flyer. The island scenes were filmed in Krabi, Thailand, in the area near Khao Phing Kan (popularly known as James Bond Island).

Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai Movie Story :

A poor singer, Rohit, and the daughter of a very rich man, Sonia, fall in love. While on a cruise ship, they get separated from the rest of their party and end up on a deserted island. They live happily here for a few days until they are rescued. Sonia’s friends help Rohit to make a name for himself so that they can get married. But before he reaches this goal, he meets an untimely death. Sonia’s father sends her to live with her cousins in New Zealand to get over her heartbreak. In New Zealand she meets Raj Chopra who looks exactly like Rohit.

The film’s music was composed by Rajesh Roshan with lyrics by Ibrahim Ashq, Saawan Kumar Tak and Vijay Akela. Most of the songs were sung by Lucky Ali, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik The dancing sequences were choreographed by Farah Khan.

The songs “Ek Pal Ka Jeena”, “Na Tum Jano Na Hum”, “Chand Sitaare”, and the title song “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai” were chartbusters. The film’s soundtrack album became the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year,selling about 10 million units.

This is one of the most adorable movies ever made. The story may not be extremely original and some of the songs may not be great but the overall effect is sure to leave you smiling. Don’t expect a deep art film or edge of the seat thriller this is a feel good movie with romance comedy and a little action. and even if you don’t like the movie you will have to love the guy. This dude is gonna conqueor bollywood. Watch this great movie free of vulgarity and violence often filling the screen.
