Story of the film

Raj Verma, an engineer, married Kajal. She believes him to be corrupt and rich. Raj isn’t rich or dishonest, though, in actuality. Kajal finds this annoying.

Romi and Preeti are her and Raj’s twins. However, Kajal hasn’t altered her mind yet. She pretends to be a business billionaire named Raj and tells her old rich friend Nisha that her family owns a large home and numerous automobiles. Nisha extends an offer to drive her. When the bungalow she identifies as being her own turns out to be Nisha’s, Kajal is exposed.

Jahnvi, the niece of Raj’s boss Randhir, who is traveling from abroad, finds out that her uncle is an engineer employed by Randhir’s building company. When Raj comes, Vikram Khanna, Randhir’s business partner, tries to rape Jahnvi, but Raj stops him. She develops feelings for him.

She is determined to marry him even after finding out he is already married. Jahnvi meets Kajal by accident without realizing she is Raj’s wife. Raj and Kajal are enraged when she tells them she loves them.

When Jahnvi first meets Kajal, she makes her an offer to marry Raj for two crore rupees. Kajal accepts her proposal because she sees this as her opportunity to get wealthy. Raj is coerced by Kajal to sign the deal. Raj reluctantly weds Jahnvi. In accordance with the Hindu Marriage Act, Kajal divorces him on her own, believing that she and Jahnvi will happily share Raj.

Kajal purchases a massive mansion and automobiles with the money she received in the deal. In the end, the bungalow she purchases is actually Nisha’s. She makes a quick trip back to her former residence to retrieve a photo of her spouse. Kajal makes fun of her, saying that whereas Nisha has lost everything, she has achieved her aspirations.

Kajal has sold her husband for wealth, but Nisha reminds Kajal that she sold her home and belongings to pay for her husband’s medical care. Kajal shapes herself into an elegant woman. As a result, Kajal starts to ignore her family. Raj feels objectified for being bought and sold between his two wives, and at first he is rejected by Kajal and does not develop a deep relationship with Jahnvi. However, Jahnvi becomes a friend to Raj and the kids, showing them a lot of love and affection. She transforms herself into a stay-at-home mom. To ensure that Raj and the children feel safe and content with her, she even cheerfully rides in packed buses and cars.

She gives up every luxury and comfort she was raised with. When Jahnvi was called “Maa” by the kids, Kajal used to chastise them for calling her so, saying that it sounded too high society to call her “Mummy.”

Kajal gradually comes to terms with her estrangement from her family. Unaware that Raj has never been drawn to an opulent lifestyle, she forgets her wedding anniversary and celebrates her daughter’s birthday, further alienating Raj and drawing him closer to Jahnvi.

Kajal attempts to make apologies after her mother reminds her again. When that fails, a furious Kajal tries to make Jahnvi leave by slapping her and accusing her of taking her husband. When Kajal offers Jahnvi all of her money back in exchange for Raj once more, Raj informs her that she is the poorest even though she has all of the wealth she could possibly want. When Kajal gets legal counsel, she is informed that Raj and Jahnvi’s divorce is the only way she may lawfully marry him. Raj then makes the decision to go with Jahnvi, despite her best efforts to force her out of the house. The children choose to remain with their father and Janhvi.

Conversely, Kajal, crushed by her family’s betrayal, gives away everything she owns. She rushes to the airport for a last visit with Raj and the children before they depart for the US. They are prepared to leave, she finds. Jahnvi, however, turns to Raj at the last minute and informs them that although she is traveling alone to the US, she is not going alone. She will bear Raj’s child. Jahnvi acknowledges that even though Kajal sold her husband, she was the one who made the offer to purchase him, thus she too needs to make amends. After Jahnvi departs for New York, Kajal returns home to her family and realizes the value of family over material possessions.
