Jeevan

Indian actor Omkar Nath Dhar, best known by his stage name Jeevan, was born on October 24, 1915, and passed away on June 10, 1987. He performed 49 times as Narad Muni in movies during the 1950s. Later, in well-known Bollywood movies from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, he portrayed the antagonist. Actor Kiran Kumar, son of Deepak Dhar, is also involved in cinema and television.

Early life

Jeevan was from a rich Kashmiri Pandit family. His grandpa, an aristocracy, served as the Gilgit Agency’s governor. When he was three years old, his father passed away, and his mother passed away during childbirth.

Bollywood Career

Jeevan has always been attracted by movies, therefore he knew from a young age that he wanted to be an actor. His grandpa held the position of governor, therefore his family was regarded as noble. Being the son of a household where attending movies was frowned upon, Jeevan fled his home at the age of eighteen and arrived in Bombay with just Rs. 26 in his pocket.

He briefly struggled until succeeding in getting a position in Mohan Sinha’s (Vidya Sinha’s grandpa) studios. Applying silver paper to the reflectors was his responsibility. It was in this capacity as a reflector boy that he was offered a leading part in Mohan Sinha’s Fashionable India.

He is recognized for playing Narad Muni in more than 60 multilingual films and stage shows. In the well-known 1950 film “Har Har Mahadev,” starring Nirupa Roy and Trilok Kapoor, he played the character of Narad Muni. He also became well-known for his roles in the motion pictures Romantic India (1935), Afasana (1946), and Station Master (1942).

Jeevan played antagonists in several Dev Anand projects and Manmohan Desai movies between 1946 and 1978, such as Dharam Veer and Amar Akbar Anthony. He appeared in Teri Meri Ek Jindri, a Punjabi movie. His final film, Insaaf Ki Manzil, was directed by Braj Bhushan and produced by Ram Nandan Prasad. It came out in 1986. At the age of 71, he passed away on June 10, 1987.
