Honest Police officer Inderjeet’s life takes turn for the worse when he has to arrest his lady love Shanti’s (Jayaprada) father, Mr. Din Dayal for murder, but gets transferred. Years later, retired Inderjeet arranges his adopted daughter Neelu’s (Neelam Kothari) marriage with Vijay (Kumar Gaurav), but the married couple gets killed by Shanti’s brother and his friends. When the police take no action, Inderjeet decides to take the law into his hands to avenge his adopted daughter’s death.
In order to continue suppressing the workers in his company; multi-millionaire, Din Dayal gets a union leader and his wife murdered. When inspector Indrajeet attempts to arrest Dayal his daughter, Shanti intervenes. This angers Indrajeet whose beloved is also Shanti and he decides to cut all connections from her. Indrajeet adopts the daughter, Neelu of the diseased union leader and years later after his retirement from police service attempts to bring her up. Indrajeet gets Neelu marry to Vijay but calamity destructs the couple when they are killed by a group of young boys. Indrajeet lodges a complaint with the police but instead of arresting the assailants the police commissioner closes the case forcing Indrajeet to take the law into his hands.
Honest and diligent Police Inspector Indrajeet’s life takes a turn for the worse, when he must arrest Din Dayal, who is the father of Shanti, the girl he loves and intends to marry, thus souring their relationship, when she openly defends her father, and as a result Indrajeet is transferred, and Din Dayal’s arrest is overturned. Years later, Indrajeet has retired and is now looking after his adopted daughter, Neelu. Neelu loves Vijay, and Indrajeet arranges their marriage, only to have the couple killed by his enemies. Since the police are of no help, he decides to avenge their deaths on his own, and then he finds out that as one of the assailants is Ajit, the younger brother of Shanti.
