Story of the film

Ghuspaithiya, which is based on actual incidents, attempts to remark on the invasion of privacy and stalking that are common in our technologically advanced society. In the movie, we meet Ravi Rana (Vineet Kumar Singh), a devoted police officer who surreptitiously watches powerful people reveal their illicit activities. As Ravi struggles with the darker side of mankind shown by these intercepted calls, his personal life takes a surprising turn when his wife, Abha (Urvashi Rautela), who is infatuated with social media, is the target of cyberstalking. The mastermind is Anshuman (Akshay Oberoi), a software expert who preys on gullible ladies by using his technological prowess.

Based on real-life incidents, Ghuspaithiya seeks to comment on the invasion of privacy and stalking that are common in our technologically advanced society. Dedicated police officer Ravi Rana (Vineet Kumar Singh) is introduced to us in the movie. He surreptitiously monitors powerful people to reveal their illicit activities. When Ravi’s wife, Abha (Urvashi Rautela), who is infatuated with social networking, is the target of cyberstalking, his personal life takes an unexpected turn as he struggles with the evil side of mankind exposed by these intercepted calls. Anshuman (Akshay Oberoi), a software engineer who uses his technological skills to prey on gullible ladies, is the brains behind everything. Ravi is used for his benefit by his boss, IG Santosh Tyagi (Govind Namdev). Because of their sudden entrance, these plot devices, which are meant to heighten suspense, disturb the narrative flow. Furthermore, Ravi’s use of physical force to combat Anshuman grows clichéd and lessens the suspense in the scene.

The film’s finale is especially disappointing since Ravi’s plan to neutralize Anshuman seems rushed and undeveloped. The movie would have been better with a more sophisticated resolution.

The intricacies of a man divided between duty and personal suffering are captured in Vineet Kumar Singh’s stirring performance. Akshay Oberoi portrays the threatening cyberstalker well. Given the constraints of her position, Urvashi Rautela gives a respectable performance.

Ghuspaithiya falls short of its promise despite having a strong cast and an intriguing idea. It may have been a compelling thriller with a better screenplay and more subtle directing. Rather, it remains a squandered chance.
