Ghaath Movie Story :

Krishna Patil is a poor, unemployed, unsuccessful and short tempered youth who stays in a chawl with his father Ramakant and elder sister Mansi. He tries to secure a job in the police department but fails. One day he happens to meet Kavita Choudhary, a young, rich, beautiful, intelligent lawyer. He falls for her instantly and begins wooing her. Kavita, having recently lost her father, stays alone and feels lonely and depressed. There is a certain void in her life. She is looking for someone to share her loneliness and an unemployed Krishna suits her requirements perfectly. Hence she accepts him as her boyfriend despite his mediocre looks, poor family background, jobless status and lack of personal hygiene.

Production :

Akashdeep directed the film, produced under the banner of K. Bhagyalakshmi Pictures.This was the first film in which Khan and Kher appeared together. Initially, Akashdeep was not pleased with Khan’s acting and was planning to replace him. It was on the insistence of Bajpayee that Akashdeep retained him.Bajpayee was acting with Khan for the first time, so was Tabu. Raveena Tandon made a special appearance in the film.

This film review are Mostly Positive from Critics, IMDB Public Reviewing site give 4.9 Star Out Of 10 Star with Reviewers are 128.

A very well-made movie, reflecting the current corrupt times in India, especially in Bombay City.

I must say this is the most violent bollywood film I’ve seen. I have not watched many of them because our regional channel show these films on a Sunday night around 2 am. I could not sleep one sunday night. I started to watch Ghaath and I got hooked for the next 3 hours. It’s about a young man whose hopes of becoming a policeman are crushed when he gets drawm into a fight with a police inspector. Very entertaining. Funny enough you always find a familar face who acted in English speaking film like Om Puri (East is East).
