This film reviews are highly positive from critics.
Critics reviews :
- Times of India critics gave 3.5 star out of 5 star and stated that “The cinematography of “Citylights” by Dev Agarwal is wonderful. Shots of the family sleeping against a rubbish pile, a ‘3BHK’ in a construction site, Deepak staring at an ocean of pure despair, a fallen cycle in a courtyard, stand out. The family’s migration stays with you as a vivid new experience – but its city sojourn occasionally reminds you of familiar moments.”
- Shubhra Gupta from Indianexpress gave 3 star out of 5 star and stated that “CityLights Film that moves you intermittently.
- Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama gave 3.5 star from 5 star and stated that “On the whole, CITYLIGHTS is one of the most captivating movie experiences of late. An expertly-crafted heartbreaker, this tragic tale has a riveting plot, power-packed narrative, soulful music and arresting performances to haunt you much after the screening has concluded. A must watch!”
- Hindustan Times critics Sweta Kaushal writes that “Hansal Mehta’s direction makes Citylights “intensely gripping and thought-provoking, the interplay of emotions and how the couple copes with city’s hardships are the high points of the film.”
