Story of the film
The primary character is Chander, a travel photographer who resides with his parents and best friend Johnny in the Indian city of Nainital. He is drawn to Nirmala [played by Preeti Jhangiani], a stage dancer (a banjaran), when he encounters her on his way to work. After snapping her picture, he becomes friends with her and sings her a song about “taking her across the moon and stars” and says he will take her to Mumbai, the city of dreams. Despite the opposition of her guardians, her uncle, and aunt, who had different intentions for her, she consents to be with him. After that, she starts her stardom career as Garima.
Chander raises money for their dream realization by selling Johnny both his camera and his studio. Garima is discovered by filmmaker Arman Khan, who offers her the lead part in his movie. After gaining notoriety and fortune, Garima gradually begins to disregard Chander. Because of Chander’s hate, her assistant Kapoor is planning to get rid of him. He is successful in forcing Chander from Garima’s home. A buddy of Chander suggests that he go back to Nainital. When Chander gets back, he finds out that his mother is staying with his old buddy Johnny and that his father has passed away.
Johnny returns Chander’s camera and tells him to start over. Chander rejoins his previous employer. He eventually meets Garima again and begs her to take him back. They reconcile after she finally accepts.
