Bodyguard Movie is an 2011 Indian Bollywood romantic action comedy film co- writter and directer is Siddique. It is a remake of the director’s own 2010 Mollywood film of the same name starring Dileep and Nayantara. The film was producer is Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Khan Agnihotri.It features Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, with Aditya Pancholi in a special appearance and Karisma Kapoor in a voice role. It also stars Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Hazel Keech in supporting roles. The film’s first look and theatrical trailer was unveiled on 21 July 2011. Bodyguard was released in 3250 theatres worldwide.
The film broke many records upon its release. Within the first day of its release, it went on to become the highest opening day grosser as well as the biggest grosser ever for a single day up until then. The film set another box office record, netting 1.03 billion in its first week, thus becoming the highest opening week grossing Bollywood film until then. The film became a major commercial success with a worldwide gross of 2.34 billion

Story of The Film :
Reading from a diary, a lad comes to know about a nobleman from Jaisinghpur, Sartaj Rana, who invited the wrath of the Mhatre brothers, Ranjan and Vikrant, by sending Lovely Singh to free abducted women bound for Thailand. Feeling threatened, he hires Lovely as a bodyguard for his collegian daughter, Divya, and her friend, Maya. Divya does not appreciate being followed around by Lovely and creates a fictional woman, Chhaya, who distracts him by repeatedly phoning him and telling him that she loves him. Lovely believes this person to be real and falls in love. In a bar, Ranjan’s brother attacks Divya and is killed by Lovely – setting into motion a chain of events that will pit Lovely not only against the enraged Mhatre brothers but also against Sartaj himself, who believes that Lovely is attempting to elope with his daughter.
Production :
The film’s production company, Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd, was bought by Reliance Entertainment for 450 million. This earned Reliance the co-producer status and an equal share in the IPR for perpetuity.
The film director Siddique first offered the female lead to Nayantara but she refused because she was not interested to play the same role in the original. The role then went to Kareena Kapoor.
Neerupa Menon, a mutual friend of director Siddique and Alvira Khan, introduced him to Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Atul Agnihotri, the to-be co-producers of the film, suggesting that he should venture into Bollywood. Siddique sent his original Malayalam film to Alvira and Atul as a result of the suggestion and they convinced Salman Khan to watch the film. After watching the film, Khan was very impressed with it and agreed to do the Hindi remake.
Shooting for the film began on 16 January 2011 at the Symbiosis International University campus situated in Pune. The classrooms and academic block of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management were used in the Lavale campus. The shooting later continued in the city of Patiala (Punjab).Two songs from the film were scheduled to be shot in Europe but were later shifted to Film City in Mumbai to cut costs as the film had already exceeded its initial budget.
Release :
Bodyguard opened across 2,250 screens in 70 Indian cities and with 482 prints across the overseas territory, released in Dolby Surround 7.1. Reliance Entertainment set aside a marketing and print budget of around 220 million for the film, one of the highest ever in Bollywood.The satellite rights of the film were sold to STAR network for 270 million for seven years.

unless you have 12 kids or believe in having your own gold elephant then you will not like this film. you know dancing weak looking little guy probably plays for the other team and this freak is the hero. lots of dancing extras. just pure rubbish acting stereotyping at its very worst, talk about how to show a people in a bad light. i have seen many Bollywood films and this goes up there with superman really have to see that one just cause its so bad this film is so bad i want to go to war. well apparently i have to write 10 lines of how much i hate this film yes its really really bad, so bad it gave my neighbour cancer,cause he heard 1 minute of the music,this film caused a zombie attack to be cancelled because they did not want to come back as long as this existed
