Blue Movie Details :

Blue Movie is a 2009 Bollywood action-adventure film, the directer is Anthony D’Souza, and writter are American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan. The Movie starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta in Main roles,whilst Katrina Kaif stars in a cameo appearance. Kylie Minogue appears in a musical number in the film. Blue was released during Diwali festival on 16 October 2009 and received mixed to positive response from critics. During the time of release, it was the most expensive Indian film, produced with a budget of more than $25 million. Loosely based on the Hollywood film Into the Blue (2005), Blue failed to recover its high budget from the box office.

Story of The Film :

Bangkok-based bike-racer Sameer Singh gets in debt with Gulshan, and flees to the Bahamas to live with his brother, Sagar, and his live-in girlfriend, Mona. But Gulshan catches up with him, allegedly kills Nikki, who Sameer loves, and forcibly abducts Mona. In order to return the money, the duo, along with Aarav Malhotra, decide to scour the bottom of the ocean for a ship ‘Lady in Blue’ that was sunk on purpose in July 1949. This ship contains treasure that was being returned by the tyrannical British as a goodwill gesture. The trio will soon find that unknown dangers await them and that one of them has a hidden agenda of his own.

The music of the film was composer is A. R. Rahman with lyrics provided by Abbas Tyrewala, Mayur Puri, Rajat Arora, Raqeeb Alam and Sukhwinder Singh. The music was promoted and digitally distributed by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

The song “Chiggy Wiggy” was sung by pop singer Kylie Minogue and Sonu Nigam Backing female vocals is given by Suzanne D’Mello and Phij Adams did the sound mixing for the song.Minogue also made a special appearance in the video of the song.

The track “Aaj Dil Gustakh Hai”, which begins with a sequence of Sukhwinder Singh’s humming, followed by an acoustic guitar loop presents Shreya Ghoshal handling a westernised rendition. The backing vocalists for the song are Benny Dayal, Hentry Kuruvila, Shi Millhouse and Raven Millhouse. “Fiqrana” features vocals by Vijay Prakash and Shreya Ghoshal and was picturised as solo performances of Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan. Sanjay Dutt, the actor playing the film’s protagonist boycotted the promotional events since he was not included in this song, which remained chart topper for many weeks. “Bhoola Tujhe” is a romantic song sung by Rashid Ali. The Yeri voice for the song was by Kavita Belliga. The theme song for Blue was sung by Blaaze, with backing vocals by Raqeeb Alam, Sonu Kakkar, Jaspreet Jasz, Neha Kakkar and Dilshad Khan. “Rehnuma” was sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. “Yaar Mila Tha” was sung by Udit Narayan and Madhushree with backing vocals by Ujjayinee Roy, Shi Millhouse and Raven Millhouse. This track was not included in the film, but it is conceptualised as a song played out between the characters of Akshay and Katrina after the end of the film’s plot when they talk about Zayed’s character.

Sequel :

The directors announced their intentions to make a sequel to Blue, which is currently titled Aasman. The cast is slated to include Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles from the original, with new additions including John Abraham, Neha Oberoi, and Sonal Chauhan. A. R. Rahman has been approached to compose the music.

This film review are Mostly Positive from Critics, IMDB Public Reviewing site give 3.7 Star Out Of 10 Star with Reviewers are 4506.

BLUE, awaited movie of the year is a failure. Despite multiple star cast, 100 crores budget, Kylie Minologue the film is total failure. Film lacks story & it doesn’t entertain you except A.R. Rahman’s music. The only thing I liked about this film is the superb music of A.R. Rahman & Lara dutta. Akshay Kumar is dull & boring with his monotonous acting. Sanjay Dutt looks very simple & hasn’t done enough work (his tummy is clearly visible. that looks very bad). Katrina too is being spoilt with the role. The positive thing about the movie is music, some great underwater scene & glimpse of the underwater life.

Critics Rating by Taran Adarsh, from Bollywood Hungama give 4 star out of 5 Star.
