Story of the film
This is the narrative of Sita Vajpai, played by Rekha, a lady who experiences different phases of life. The story opens in a flashback where she is accused of murder and has voluntarily and amiably admitted to it in a courtroom. She is charged with the murder of Bijlee (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), who has an open romantic relationship with her and was paid by her step-son Rakesh (Rakesh Roshan) to kill Vijay (Vinod Mehra). Bijlee now demands that her husband Barrister Vajpai (Shriram Lagoo) reimburse him for the money he is owed for orchestrating Vijay’s murder. She is the stepmother of a stepson who, after engaging in an extramarital affair with her cousin Aruna (Aruna Irani), is now unwilling to accept and wed Aruna.
He says he thought he was having sex with Sita, but he actually just had sex with Aruna. She is the sister of the stunning Savitri (Neeta Mehta) and the niece of her spiteful Chacha (T.P. Jain) and unapproving Chachi (Dina Pathak). She now awaits the ultimate torment and condemnation at the hands of justice and the law after enduring all the injustices and tortures of life.
