Story of the film

After a call girl named Julie is brutally murdered in Mumbai, Anil Kumar Sharma and Rajat Bedi, two police inspectors, are tasked with conducting an investigation and apprehending the perpetrator(s). Anil and Rajat observe that the murderer leaves the number “2001” inscribed on the victim’s body. Anil finds out that the man occupying Julie’s room is Ramaswamy, a well-known member of the state parliament, and he wants to put him on the suspect list. Following Julie’s passing, two more people are slain in a similar manner: Krishna Rao and the advocates Sarkari and Kajal.

Next, Ramaswamy is attacked, but he makes it out alive and is taken to the hospital. After a moment of alertness, he accuses Rajat and then spirals back into his previous state. Rajat is placed under house arrest by Police Commissioner Malik since he doesn’t want to take any chances. Subsequently, Anil discovers evidence connecting Malik to the murder, and Rajat begins to suspect Anil and compiles evidence against him. It is revealed that Roshni is the one responsible for all of the murders when she composes a letter, delivers it to Billu, and presents it to Anil and Rajat.

Then, carrying a bomb, she travels to Amirchand’s house and makes threats to blow herself, him, and the entire mansion. However, Anil and Rajat arrive and stop her. Feeling sorry for Roshni, Anil locks her up, admits that he was the one responsible for all the killings, and leaves the year 2001 on her body. He then proceeds to kill Amirchand at his house and confesses that he carried out all the killings to get revenge on his family, for which Amirchand and his goons were accountable. However, Rajat stops him before he can kill Amirchand.

Reluctantly shooting at Anil’s leg, he misses the target and ends up shooting himself in the chest, killing him. Billu is devastated and angry that Rajat killed his best friend in such a way after learning the complete truth from Roshni. After taking down Amirchand’s goons, Rajat enters his mansion and uses steel chains to imprison him. Rajat ultimately uses the mansion’s rocket launcher to demolish it, putting an end to Amirchand and his nefarious deeds for good.
