Split Wide Open is a 1999 Indian film directer by Dev Benegal. It is his second feature film after English, August 1994. The film primarily deals with the Water conflicts in the slums of Bombay, and paedophilia, and also looks at the subversive sexuality in modern India and how the notions of morality are challenged when sex and poverty collide. The film came under harsh criticism when released in India and has been one of the most controversial Indian films.

Written and directer by Kamal Haasan, it is a circumquel (happens partly before and after the former film’s end) to Vishwaroopam (2013) and features himself alongside Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah, reprising their roles.While the first film was set in the United States, Vishwaroopam 2 is set to take place in India.Producer by Venu Ravichandran in Tamil, the film is also beingsproducer by Ekta Kapoor & Shobha Kapoor in Hindi as Vishwaroop,Initially planned as a late 2013 release,the film was stuck in developmenthell and was revived only in April 2017 as Kamal Haasan himself took over as producer.Director Rajesh Selva confirmed in his tweets that the film is currently in the post-production stage along with the Telugu dubbed version. The official first look of the film was released on May2, 2017,the official trailer in Tamil, Telugu & Hindi was released on June 11, 2018 and the film is set to release on August 10, 2018.
