Soldier movie is a 1998 Bollywood action thriller film directer is Abbas-Mustan, This film leading star cast are Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta and Raakhee. The film was released in 1998 and was declared as a ‘Super Hit’ by Box Office India, becoming the 4th highest grossing film of the year in India. However Soldier was Preity Zinta’s first debut film, Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se.. ended up being released before Soldier and was thus Zinta’s film debut.
Soldier movie was remade in Tamil as Villu by Prabhu Deva starring Vijay and Nayantara in main roles in 2009.

Critics -Faisal Shariff of Rediff.com gave positive review by saying ” Bobby goes about clinically exterminating the baddies, though there is no innovation in his method.Raakhee as the mother is becoming dangerously typecast.It lacks the basics of a good film, suffers from stale comedy, has lacklustre performances from respectable character artistes like Farida Jalal, Suresh Oberoi and Raakhee, music sans melody and a very noisy climax.”
