Pyaar Ke Side Effects movie is a 2006 Bollywood Hindi romantic comedy Movie It was producer under the banner of Pritish Nandy communications and was writer/directer first time director Saket Chaudhary. Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose played the Main role.The film is a romantic comedy, and portrays the intricacies of a modern relationship. The film explores the theme of ‘commitment phobia’ in a captivating manner, an interesting, witty take on men-women relationships.

After the success of this movie the lead pair were repeated in another movie Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam however that movie couldn’t match the success of this movie. A sequel, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, was released in 2014 with Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles.

Story of The Film :

Bengal-speaking Siddharth Bose lives a middle-classed lifestyle in Delhi along with his mother, and sister, Shalini. Their dad had abandoned them years ago. Shalini gets married to Kapil Sharma and moves in with him, while Siddharth works as a DJ with his friend, known simply as Nanoo. While performing for a ceremony, where Punjabi-speaking Trisha Mallick is about to wed India’s youngest C.E.O., Vivek Chaddha, Siddharth sneaks in to use the bathroom and finds out that the bride does not love the groom and is about to run away. He manages to convince her to stay put, uses the facility and leaves.

He meets her six months later in Mumbai, and he finds out that she did run away, both are attracted to each other and start living together fairly harmoniously, even though Trisha is taller than him. S

iddharth’s mom approves of Trisha and hopes that their children will also be taller. Their humorous and idyllic lifestyle is shattered when Trisha proposes to him, and gets him to meet her mom, Shabnam, and rather snobbish dad, Veerbhadra Mallick, a retired Colonel, who does not approve of his daughter running away nor living with a wedding musician, who does not even earn half as much as his daughter, and also hopes to get his daughter to wed an yet unmarried Vivek.

Pyaar Ke Side Effects, the album was released on 20 June 2006. It consisted of 6 Original songs and 3 Remixes composed by Pritam. It garnered generally Positive reviews from the critics. Narbir Gosal from Planet Bollywood rated the album 8/10 and wrote “Pritam has put together five good compositions on this album, but the pointless remixes and three versions of one song dilutes the impact. ‘Pyar Karke’, ‘Jaane Kya’ and ‘Is This Love’ stand head and shoulders above the rest, and on the whole this album is a definitely worth the buy.”

Pyar Ke Side Effects – There is something about this movie which makes it click. Attempting to pinpoint a lone factor will be a futile. But yes one can safely give the credit to the efforts deployed in pre-production and its effective translation onto the silver screen (the latter of course being the most challenging part).
