FLEXOR CARPI RADIALIS :

 

flexor carpi radialis is a muscle of the human forearm that acts to flex and abduct the hand.
The Latin carpus means wrist,
and
carpi “of the wrist.”
Hence flexor carpi is a flexor of the wrist

 

 

ORIGIN : medial epicondyle of humerus

INSERTION : base of the second and third metacarpal bone

 

NERVE SUPPLY : median nerve

 

ACTION /EXERCISE : abduction and flexion of the wrist

The muscle, like flexor carpi radialis of the forearm, can be strengthened by exercises that resist its flexion.
A wrist roller can be used and wrist curls with dumbbells can also be performed.
