Dillagi Movie Story

Brothers Rajvir and Ranvir are very loving. They relocate to Mumbai from their Punjabi village with their family. Ranvir assumes responsibility for his younger brother’s care following the death of their mother. Ranvir and his father overcome many obstacles to turn things around, and their family eventually becomes quite affluent. Rajvir, however, leads a careless life. In the opening scene of the film, Ranvir opens a hotel and throws a party. Later, Rajvir turns there with his girlfriend from abroad. In addition to their father, their grandmother looks after them.

Shalini enlists at Rajvir’s college and becomes enamored with him. She falls in love with him despite his funny attempts to court her. One evening, Shalini tells Rajvir how much she loves him and how she hopes to marry him, presuming that he feels the same way. However, he dismisses her proposal as a jest. Shalini was completely in love with him, thus at first, this doesn’t bother her.

She continues to discuss marriage, until one day Rajvir loses it and declares his disdain for her. He further disrespects Shalini’s parents by showing up at her house in a fit of wrath after hearing from his pals that he has fallen in love with her. Shalini is devastated by this, realizing she had fallen in love with the wrong person. A rival college student of Rajvir’s who is envious of him because he had a crush on Shalini but she ended up falling in love with him, tries to beat Rajvir up with his hired goons. When Ranvir finds out, he immediately goes to Rajvir’s support.

The college student and his thugs use a weapon to strike Rajvir in the head, but Ranvir shows there to save him, and together they beat the goons and Rajvir’s rival.

Before all of this, Ranvir had fallen in love with Shalini after catching a glimpse of her at a traffic signal. He finds out Shalini’s identity after seeing her at a wedding. She declined his marriage proposal, saying she was in love with someone else (Rajvir). Heartbroken, Ranvir agrees.

Following the previously mentioned incident, Shalini runs into Ranvir once more. The two of them eventually fall in love, and Shalini accepts Ranvir’s proposal of marriage. Later, after realizing that Shalini is his true love, Rajvir confesses his feelings to her in front of Ranvir, who supports him in asking Shalini out. Rajvir and Ranvir were talking about the same woman at this point, but they were unaware of it.

Shalini gently disapproves when he shows up and declares his love. Feeling bankrupt, he swears to kill that person—not realizing it’s Ranvir because he’s never met his sister-in-law. Later, when he sees Ranvir and Shalini at a restaurant, he becomes enraged and acts very rudely toward Ranvir. Both Ranvir and Shalini are startled when Ranvir slaps Rajvir and Rajvir pushes him away. After that, Rajvir flees and tries to jump off a bridge to end his life. Ranvir races to save him, but he is struck by a car and becomes unconscious. Shalini lashes out at Rajvir because he caused so much distress for so many people.

Ranvir wakes up from his coma and forgives Rajvir after Rajvir apologizes to him in an emotional scene later. Ranvir and Shalini tie the knot.

As the movie comes to a close, Rajvir returns to his village, meets Rani, and develops feelings for her. Preity Zinta, who is extremely beautiful, plays Rani.
